Hey I just wanted to share part of my N7 armor I created for Halloween this year. Its a Omni - Blade for my left arm, with a pivoting blade so I can hide it under my arm. The design was freehanded just based on pictures found around the internet. I can't Call it a straight out 100% replica because I changed some features. Like having a full blade rather then a half blade.

Its made out of Acryllic Plexi-Glass and held together with bolts nuts, screws and glue. For my first ever "weapon" creation im pretty happy with the result.

This really is fantastic and it is going to my first "weapon" once I finish up my N7 armor. Any tips on working with plexi-glass like that?

Ehh hah this was kinda my first go at it and it was pretty simple had a little practice making visors for some helmets that's about it, easiest way is to use something to mold it onto. I used a roll of paper towels.... And took enough off so it matched the width size of my arm, then heated plexiglas glass out gloves on and just kept working it and it came out pretty great.

How did you cut the acrylic? I've always had a tough time cutting it without cracking it.

just with a dremel. I use a circular blade to but out the rough design then just a round sanding tip and it turns out pretty flawless. ive made about 15+ helmet visors and 3 omni blades now and never had it crack using a dremel.

That's a little surprising, usually plastics melt and make for really gross cuts when using tools like that.

You wouldn't happen to have digital versions of your templates, would you? I've thought about making some in Inkscape.

no sorry Ive never made any digital templates I usually hand draw everything... Digital would be smarter as far as scaling purposes haha... I was actually going to start a run of Customizable Omni-Blades mid jan. Ill look into a digital file then :)
