I usually don't paint my own stuff, preferring to third-party the work to some really great people I've been working with for a long time now. Point being, my painting skills are a little basic, to say the least.
That said, I have a GEC Kylo Reforged/Kintsugi cold-cast helmet kit, and I am going to take a swing at painting it myself.
The silver inlay looks like it will be a tremendous PITA to mask off. If it really is simply a matter of painstaking care, so be it, but I was wondering if there were any techniques/tricks to make the masking a little less laborious?
I thought about masking off the entire area and then using an Xacto pen to trim away the tape in-between the inlays, but I don't want to risk scratching or gouging the silver cold-cast.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Please and thank you.
