Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The dialog with Coulson, Garrett, and Fury was great.

Garrett: "Phil, I'm surprised you even tried to stop me. Of course I don't blame you, Nick. You haven't seen the big picture, the big bang, but Phil here has. We share a bond. We're blood brothers."

Fury: "You didn't tell me he'd gone this crazy."

Coulson: "He's really stepped it up a notch."

I'm glad I picked this show back up around the time of Captain America: The Winter Soldier as the last 5-6 episodes were really good. I bailed on it back in the fall because I just wasn't enjoying it, but the tie-in with the movie gave it a much needed boost and hopefully that carries on into season 2.

Season finale was awesome. Loved the fake out at the end with Garrett. The Fury Ex Machina was kind of meh but don't mind it too much as it brought more Fury into my life. Kind of sad that we didn't get to see more of Fitz at the end though. Looking forward to the next season.

I'm really glad they didn't redeem Ward, I think he'd be more interesting as a kind of lone wolf independent who understands that he failed both Hydra and SHIELD. Not really an antagonist who wants them dead, but can beat them at their own game and work for others trying to get in on the superhero game.

Yes, some parts were heavy-handed, I almost expected a Blue Box to appear and save Fitz and Simmons from their tight spot. But as with that other show the fun outweighs the "hold on a second" moments.

I'm going to say something that Joss and Marvel would like to hear.
Not having the time to attend movies as frequently as I once did I usually find myself catching movies on Blu-Ray. My wife and I both love the Marvel films but Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 were viewed on Blu-Ray. Agents of Shield is something we follow and, when the agency blew apart with HYDRA and Ward started killing folks we were compelled to get off our asses and make time to see Winter Soldier. The only opportunity happened to be our wedding anniversary - that's right. We spent our anniversary away from the kids having dinner and going to see The Winter Soldier on IMAX 3D... and it was great. No doubt future tie-ins between the network and Netflix shows will bring folks like us to the theater again just to keep up. Brilliant move, Marvel and Joss.

At least it was a great film. Nothing worse then making the effort for a film and it being completley naff!

Mark your calendars, the Season 2 premiere date is Tuesday night, September 23, 2014.

I've heard of the "golden age" of comics, but with all the connecting movies, TV shows, short films, and after credit scenes, this has to be the "PLATINUM AGE" of comic cinematic representation, especially to a kid growing up seeing Captain America with a motorcycle hemet. Agents of SHIELD isn't perfect, but it's miles beyond what I had growing up.

Had to share this:

I was at the car wash, and in process of paying, rifling through my wallet to pull out my frequent car wash card, the clerk saw the personalized SHIELD Field Agent ID card I keep in my wallet, and freaked out because he thought it meant that agency was actually real.

Sorta of trembling with excitement, he said, "Oh my gosh, I thought it was just a TV show!"

I kept my sunglasses on, slowly nodded and said in deadpan voice, "we're not really supposed to talk about it."

Then he noticed the Ironman T-shirt that I was wearing and gestured toward that. I replied, "yeah, most of us are fans."

I could just about see his geek-meter peg the scale.

Buwahahaha epic :D

So having seen more than one big blue dude in Guardians of the Galaxy I think it is safe to say that whoever was saying the alien being used for Tahiti was a Kree was correct.

I love how the Marvel tv shows are in the same universe as their films, shame the excellent work DC puts into Arrow will never be represented in their movies, as both will always remain separate.
