Marsattack Arc reactor

Here is a prop I was very fortunate to get from Marcel. It came in pieces because I wanted to do it a little bit different from the ones he sold complete so it was necessary. Its a bit of an old build (2years?....lol) but I never got to post it, mainly because to show how awesome Marcel did I wanted to upload a video for it. Unfortunately my internet connection is crap and today finally got it uploaded. I am not going to get into to much detail. Pics should show the great work he did. The main differences in this one is the wire on the transformers are thinner and were a different color so I had to mix stain and clear to get the darker brown color. Also I needed a 2 channel amp because of the display I'm going to make for it requires an external speaker. So 2 of the pins on the plug are an external speaker out, and I installed a smaller speaker to fit it all in. I added the rear power switch and mounted the battle damage switch on the side. I think my caps were put in differently too. No real major differences though. This has to be one of my favorite props in my collection. On top of that the blueprint Kramstar did for these was just over the top. The video just doesn't do it justice. I think you'll have to download the video though. Photobucket really is crap nowadays. Turn you volume down on the video too. Is pretty loud. Its the last "pic".
Marcel, you really knocked this out. Anyone else who got one of these please post your pics. He did a great job but not many pics showed up of them.

I couldn't agree more Glen mate. The name Marsattack has become synonymous with craftsmanship, excellence and diligent attention to detail and his all metal alloy version of the Mk 1 Iron Man Arc reactor, further cemented his reputation as one of the most fastidious prop-build artists working in the field today. I had the privilege to chatting recently to Adam Savage in his cave about Mars as well, so his reputation is well and truly global.

That said, as far as I recall we owe you a debt with regards this prop as well given that you were doing robust quality control on nearly every aspect - in addition to Mars' own. Its fair to say therefore that your name should also be mentioned because this is an impeccable piece of work!

Here are some of the pics I posted when I reviewed this gorgeous prop in Sept 2014

Here's a comparison between Mars' and the original prop reference images:

He has an amazing eye for detail and really good ideas on how to machine things.
Above all very lucky to have very distance friends like glen and mark, which with their assistance makes my props better than they are!!

Regarding the arc , glen you did an outstanding job on a different finish
