Mark X Medical Tricorder

Can anyone point me in the direction of a functional Mark X medical tricorder? I know Rodd.com sells a kit but they are having the same electronics supply problem that crippled Federation Surplus. Any info would be a help. I hope I am not being too bold. Thanks!

First off, welcome. :)
Does it have to be the Mark X Medical? I'm sure you know about the Mark IX Science MR is getting ready to release? I'm one step away from getting one myself.:love
More important, are you able to share what happened to Federation Surplus? I've been trying to order a few things for a while but no real response. I guess that explains it. I hope they're up soon. Man they had the best stuff!

Indeed their stuff is incredible. From what I've heard, there was some sort of problem with their electronics supplier. As such they cannot make any hero (functioning) pieces. Rodd.com used the same supplier which is why so many of their items are out of stock or backordered. At this point, I don't know what will happen to them. I am aware of the MR tric. and am looking into getting one, however the medical Mark X is my primary interest. (I'm a Nurse, it seemed...appropriate)

Anywhoo, thanks for the welcome, I've actuallly been lurking for quite a bit, really need to post more.......

Also, don't forget roddenberry.com because from time to time their kits are the best EVER!

I tried for a VERY long time to get mine, but I transported into Data's quarters to steal his - and Spot chased me out and nearly scratched my face off!
:lol:lol

DONT give up. I started my thread, and bumped it every few days and finally several people helped me out.

I hope you get one, and I hope you post photos to share! Good luck!

They used to sell them at Star Trek the Experience. I don't believe they do anymore, but they pop up on ebay once and a while.

I have a Mark X medical tricorder that I got from the Experience in Vegas a few years ago. They were phasing out the high end props and I got this one discounted since it had no paperwork and it was thier display model with some nicks in the paint. It is an incredible unit with the machined aluminum working scanner in the bottom. The light show is incredible and I like the fact that it was made by the boys who made the screen used units. If you have the budget I might decide to let it go.

Art Asylum is releasing the Original Series tricorder. Black Smudge is looking for the Mark X from the Next Gen movies, DS9, and Voyager.

(I would recommend picking one of these up anyway! :thumbsup)
