Very nice work so far! The helmet was made using cardboard too? It looks like it's made of real metal.
That last closeup shot in the dark is just awesome.

Thanks Radigast this is my first attempt at this kind of build so the positive feedback is really appreciated. The helmet is actually made with standard paper in pepakura, then fiberglassed. The paint is valspar silver spray paint from Lowes. I picked it because after touching it a lot it takes on the look of real metal. I've done a ton of fiberglass work on my car making 4 custom body kits in the past so I'm not reallynew to fiberglass fabrication, I guess I was never really was satisfied! But this is a new direction for me as far as fiberglass. This is just a trial run for the suit I will make an actual fully carbonfiber one in the future from a mold of this one after fine detailing. I kind of rushed it trying to finish in a 2 week window, 2 hours a day to have it ready by Halloween as a promise to my son so the details are a bit sketchy!

I was feeling a little under the weather today so I sat at my computer and made the gauntlets and cod for my suit. I decided to go with the mark 7 gauntlets seeing that I like that style more than the mark 6. Also I think the mark 6 gauntlet's are a bit plain. The gauntlets need a little work but I will fine tune them later. I also wanted to give a quick thanks to Robo and Stealth for the mark 6 pep files I downloaded like 2 years ago and never said thanks and how amazing they are, and another thanks to Darkside501st for the mark 7 gauntlet pep files. You guys here at the RPF do absolutely amazing work and have been my inspiration to try this out. Thank you all for all that you contribute.

No problem! Only remembered for the countless failed attempts at pepakura! They were the files that brought me here, lol

Here is a small update to my build I started a new job 2nd shift 5pm to 4am, so not much time to build in between work and family time. I figured I would at least try a piece or two and week so I did the left thigh today. I'm going to take my time and perfect it so I can cast a mold from it, this essentially my mark 1. Well here is a couple pics of the progress.

Great job mate. And the hall of armour housing looks brilliant. What material is it made out of? An advertising board of some kind?

Thank you, yes the hall is made from a mattress firm advertising sign and other ads from my wife's store. They were throwing them out and it was the perfect dimensions for the build. Not to mention free is always best!

Just finished the right thigh here are 2 more progress pic's

It's been fairly cool outside so I've not been able to do any resin work. I'm also lacking the gloves, shins, and boots. I'm hoping for some warm weather soon. I will post some pics tater after the shins are complete.

aren't those the mark 7 forearms?

Yes they are. I like them more than the mark 6 forearms. Post 4 explains more on why I chose that route. On another note I will be working on the shins this weekend, hopefully I'll have some new pics up soon. I am also awaiting the warm weather to resin and glass the parts I have done. I'm hoping to finish the whole suit and hall of armor by mid February. The hall will be a full enclosure much like the movie but with a mixed coloration of LED lighting.

Here is how the suit sits collecting dust next to my tv in my living room! A sad reminder of how much I want to finish but being hindered by the cold!
