Hey TheRPF!
I'd like to say thank you to the brilliant people in this forum especially the 3d modellers and unfolders who are generous to share their great work.
This is my first build so go easy on me
I've been a fan of Iron Man since the first movie came out and I've been wanting to build something from the movies. I stumbled into a concept art from Iron Man 3 and I was hooked! I like the design of the Mark 42 and it became even more appealing to me when I found out that it came in pieces. That meant that I could work my way up to a full suit if I wanted to in the near future.

Also, Dungeon-escape Tony is really cool. I think I could wear it around conventions no problem.
I've seen a lot of awesome Mark 42 builds on this forum. I'm a little good at papercraft (I used to do origami), so I decided to give the ol' cardstock pepakura method a shot.
I started building the right gauntlet first using jackieisrockin's forearm file and Zabana's hands and fingers.
Here's what I've got so far:

I neglected to take progress pictures of the fingers :unsure
Zabana's hands were tough to pep but it was all worth it in the end. Look at that detail!
On the remaining pieces, I used darkside501st's ingenious tabless pepakura method. It really makes the surface of the pep a lot smoother.

Here's everything finished:

Fiberglass and bondo here we go!
