Many questions for all of you

So I'm back. I used to be a lurker, just looking at what others had done, but now I have a costume idea for Halloween that requires that I make most (if not all) of the suit myself.

My girlfriend and I are doing Pyramid Head and a Nurse, from Silent Hill (movie version, mostly). I know how I'm doing my helmet structurally, but I have no clue how to get a good, rough, rusted look on it. I am making the helmet itself out of craft foam, then coating it in a latex primer, because I know that most of the paints suggested at these forums will mess with the foam chemically.

As for the nurse, I have an idea, but I haven't come up with anything concrete yet. My idea is to get one of those plain white face masks, paper mache over that to form the "melted" look, and then liquid latex over that, which I then airbrush to look like the nurse's skin. The real problem with that is, the nurses entire heads looked like that, not just their faces. Any other ideas as to what I can do?

And if anyone has any screenshots of Pyramid Head and the Nurses from the movie, from all angles (please let there be some hi-rez shots out there), it would be greatly appreciated. Especially shots of PH from the back. Thanks in advance!

start off with a bald cap wig and lay the liquid latex on that along with the face mask like you said, or use the mask as the mold to make a flexible latex face section that would then be attached via liquid latex to the rest.

thus in the end you have a custom made to fit full head latex mask. i used this similar technique when i made my own freddy mask from the boxed mask kit.

Thanks. I was thinking a bald cap would help out somehow, so it's good to see that I was on the right track with that idea.

Now all I need is to know how to get a good rusty look, and I'll be good to go. Oh, and some hi-rez shots. Once again, thanks!
