Mannequin HELP

Looking to make/buy a mannequin to display costumes and armours.

Like the ease of a Duct Tape mannequin, but are their other "inexpensive" options?

Also with Duct Tape mannequins, how do I best support the inside? Was thinking spray foam, but would that cause the shell to warp?

Any advise from the RPF community would be great!

It all depends on -what- exactly you are looking for, what you have available/skillset and what your budget is. With more details like whether you have access to a wood shop or are nowhere near a box store, you can get better and more helpful advice.

I found a great one on craigslist for $50. He's about my size too. (6'3" 195 lbs). I lucked out.

I have access to almost any type of store I could need, skill level is 0 (I've never tried anything like this before) but I am very creative and have manufactured many other things from scratch before, budget is under $100 (preferred).

I am keeping an eye on Kijiji and Craigslist, but am more interested in making my own (with advice from the community).

$100 should get you a used mannequin from ebay.

on a tight budget, PVC pipe and fittings will get you something more liken to a support frame, onto which your armor is supported.

So I've made a first attempt at the legs. Did it all myself.

Try the spray foam idea for the inside, already have ideas on how to improve.

Still would love to hear thoughts from others. Will post pics shortly.

Depending on your sculpting skill, a simple base form made of PVC pipes and 'muscles' made of things like upholstery foam or paper mache could work to and possibly be quicker/easier to work with. Halloween decorating sites are pros at whipping up full bodies on a budget.
