Has anyone weathered a Hasbro TBS Mando helmet into the Pre-Beskar style yet? I’m considering a second one to do that too. Previously, I did get a Migran Studios helmet, but it’s a bit blue in color compared to the silver of the TBS helmet.

In honor of finishing my 60th Bo helmet, I figured I’d share some quick shots.
I don’t think I could ever get tired of these.
These particular helmets are cast by GEC Props and sculpted by Marko Makej. All credit to those gents. What an absolute joy to paint.

I am more impressed with your paint application. That is phenomenal. I want to know how you get that mottled effect over everything. That just makes the whole look.

Agreed. Are using the salt masking method, or do you spray water on it first then paint it before the water evaporates?

Happy to share. It’s really simple, I just airbrush on the weathering color.. it’s a very thinned out grey. Then I splatter 91% alcohol into it.
If your alcohol is too “hot” sometimes it can turn the paint white, so water it down a bit or clear the helmet at the end. But better to avoid it.
If anything is too heavy I dab it with a sea sponge.

Thanks for sharing. Since you use alcohol I'm guessing your weathering colors are acrylic.

My Tank Trooper build. Went with a red lens based on the Hot Toys figure and a couple shots where it looks like it could be red. Either way, I thought it looked cool. I also went with a more subtle weathering job.

I've looked high and low and can't find the answer, which usually means it's something obvious and I'm dumb, but how does the rifle secure to Mando's back?
Episode 1 suggests that there is a quick release clip on his shoulder but where does it attach to on the stock?
And how is it secured at the other end to keep the whole thing from swinging around?

First image I’ve circled where the sling attaches to the bandolier. Second image shows a loop that is attached to his belt that holds it at an angle. There appears to be a hole in the cape that grants access to that loop. Third image is the bit the sling attached to.

Here you can see how I did it. A strong magnet in the belt and a cord with a hook. This is not the best cosplay but I´m happy with it
