Mandalorian DW: Supercommando Grunt WIP

Greetings RPF! I signed up way back in July but never made a post until recently. You may have seen an update or two on the Facebook group page or on my Instagram.
I have a decent amount of progress made on the costume, which I hope to get done by June 19th for the PortCon in Portland, Maine.

First, the character I'm emulating.



Now for some progress shots.
The helmet is one of Eternal Armory's v1.0 casts. I opted for the V1 over the V2 because it's smaller, cheaper and would fit my head better. I finished the helmet yesterday with the installation of my new visor from EA.



The armor is WCA.









The carbine is from Woodchuck, which I finished painting last week.


Medical scrubs from Allheart


Despite ordering extra small, they still look somewhat baggy. I plan to remedy this at an upcoming armor party.
Up next is the belt assembly. Stay tuned for more pictures in the coming weeks.

I assembled my gauntlets today. Commlink is a resin cast from Eternal Armory.


Permanently welded gauntlets shut using a mixture of scrap plastic and acetone. My arms are skinny enough so that I can just slide them on. I may even need to put some padding in there

Cut down a $15 leather jacket from Goodwill to use as a temporary vest:

Looks fantastic! I really like the elongated helmet from the Clone Wars.. I feel like it's a interesting little twist.

Could you elaborate on how you formed your body and shoulder armor plates? Forgive my ignorance, I'm not sure what WCA is.

I did not fabricate the plates myself. The maker is WCA -- Watch City Armory. They vac-formed the plates and all I did was trim them up and paint 'em.
