Man of Steel

My friend Belle came over and painted the black portions of the chrome suit. I think she did an excellent job... Despite my teasing :)

Stay tuned...

Did some work on the lower part of the boots. It took a while, but I drew the basic chain mail pattern on both shoes, and will puff paint over it when I have time. I'll add the chain link between the half circles... But I wanted a basic pattern to follow.

Much more to come. Stay tuned...

How did you draw the basic pattern?? doing great work man keep it up.

Very carefully ;)

First... I bought a pair of aqua shoes and cut some of the cape fabric to cover them. I highly recommend Shoe Goo for that part. Then I used a sharpie and drew the basic chain mail shape. I'll trace over it with the puff paint, and it should turn out pretty nice if all goes as planned.

I'm working on the main part of the boots right now, and getting them sewn on. I'm also sizing the muscle suit and the main suit... So I'll have another update soon.

Here's what I did with the boots:

I'm not 100% sure this is going to work yet, but I have a back-up plan if it fails. I'm waiting on the boot tops to show up before I decide which way to actually do this... But it looks pretty cool for now.

Stay tuned...

This project is looking really amazing! I can't wait to see it's completion, that is a great idea with the boots. Might help me with some insight into my own.

The details (from Frightful Acts) showed up... And they look cool. I spent most of the day today trimming some of the pieces, but all in all they're pretty good.

The boot tops are downstairs drying... Then I'm going to paint the other pieces a metallic black.

Stay tuned...

Were the parts that are yellow originally black too and need painting?

How will you make the paint stay on? wont it just flake off after bending and flexing? A clear seal should fix this I think.

I've been busy spray painting the details, but I'll have a more comprehensive update soon. In the meantime... Here's what the gauntlet looks like:

The color is a brushed metal... So it has a shiny, black, metallic look. Very happy how it turned out... And can't wait for the other details to finish drying.

Stay tuned...
