I'm taking a new route on the muscle suit. After playing with the chrome arms that were sewn onto my black cutoff... I decided to dump what I currently have and start over. I ordered a new chrome bodysuit, and cut a new set of abs and obliques. It's going to be the same muscle concept... But on a base made entirely of chrome.

While I'm waiting for the suit to show up... I'm starting to cut the pieces for the main costume, cut the cape, and I'm making progress on the boots.

I bought a pair of inexpensive water shoes. They'll be perfect once the work is done, but they started off black.

I spray painted the soles with red, and mixed it with some black that I had sitting around. The mix gave it a deep red that sorta resembles the fabric that I'm going to attach to the rest of the shoe. More to come once it dries.

I think the paint will flake off over time unless you used a clear coat gloss on top.

The water shoes seem like a great idea and my advice is to use mod podge clear acrylic to help seal the soles it works just as goid as regular clear acrylic paint but has more give to prevent cracking since you will be walkIng In them

no problem its pretty easy to find depending on your location but i know sometimes its hard to locate. Walmart, Hobby Lobby and Michaels all sell it for around 7 to 9 bucks its non yellowing and it doesn't run. Its what i use now but just make sure to let it cure fully before wearing lol i learned that lesson the hard way.

Have you considered darkening the low areas on your silver sleeves so you still only really see the silver pop out where it's suppose to, to better match the chest and stomach?

Hey Nick. That's the plan... Just haven't gotten that far yet. I bought a new chrome suit and applied the abs and obliques last night.

I'd still like to add some shoulder, bicep, and pec muscles to the suit, but I can't figure out the best way to do it without looking like a Lego block. I have some decent size to me, but my definition gets flattened under two layers of spandex. Haven't given up though.

As far as the black shading goes... A friend of mine is going to paint the negative areas (non-muscle) black. But I have to be wearing the suit when she does it. We're going to do this in the near future. With any luck... It'll end up looking like the far right suit in Venom's pic above.

Many thanks. No worries though. I've made enough mistakes to know that the chrome base is the way to go. I tried making it out of black spandex... And adding chrome to it... But there were too many details that would've been left out. I'll try not to disappoint

(My suit can be seen in my albums) The airbrushing took 4hrs to complete. While my suit isn't screen accurate, it got a lot of compliments for not being screen accurate. Go figure? But the reason I mention this, is maybe this idea of airbrushing the definition back in could be useful with the outer layer when you get to it.

I appreciate your insight. I'll keep it in mind, but I have a few other things to finish before I get to that point. My concern right now is that it might overwhelm the chrome, especially once the chainmail is applied. But we'll see what happens.

Hey the pros were once on the JV Team like everyone else lol keep it up things are looking great so far bro. Im seariously thinking about trying to sculpt the muscle base on a mannequin or maybe a life cast of my self and casting it as a negative then using silicone to mold the base and apply it under my chrome suit kind of like a prosthetic. Still just an idea but maybe if i get ballsy i will try my hand at it.

I'm wayyy overdue for an update.

The main suit is together, but the tops of the boots haven't been sewn on yet. Now that the suit is together though... I'm going to start cutting it to size, and prepping it for the details (which will be showing up any day now). I'll be adding 3D metallic puff paint after the details are glued on. The bottom portion of the boots have been made, but I'm not too crazy about how they turned out. I ordered another set of aqua shoes from Kmart, and I'll be giving it another shot.

The next major part I'll be focusing on is the cape, and I've come to the conclusion that there will have to be at least one seam if it's going to be full length.

Here are some pics of the chrome under the blue suit. I just tucked in the cape and taped on the shield for a color check.

Thanks MR! I got lucky that it fit so tightly, but it heats up like a SOB. Can't wait to get the details and puff paint on it though. Looks very plain for the time being.
