Hey all, I'm new to the RPF and really excited to post some of my builds. My friend and I are trying to assemble an entire Justice league set of costumes not only for our enjoyment, but to spread hope to some people. No, I'm not so into superheros I think I am one, lol. Rather, my friend and I are volunteers at the local Children's hospital, and we were inspired by a guy in Baltimore who goes to hospitals dressed as batman to brighten some child's day. We want to do this as well, and I am going as Batman, my friend wants to go as man of steel.
But were hitting a road bump. i can build mine with my pepakura files no problem, but what kind of material can we use for the Man of Steel suit? We dont have the kind of money to spend buying a 300 suit, but what kind of material could we make his out of? Not spandex or lycra, Im thinking of somthing more ridged that will retain a molded shape, yet flexible.
Any ideas? im stuck, and a latex suit is not gonna be durable enough. or is it? You guys know what your talking about, i dont!
