So, I waited; never cared to catch it in the theaters.

Anyway, it's on demand now and it was late, I figured I'd watch it.

Really? This is what had everyone so amped up? People wanted to die after seeing this thing because the real world no longer had meaning? :rolleyes

Oh' man did this thing suck! Giant, gay blue kittens??

My bad if this thing has already been bashed to death, loved, whatever. I don't spend much time in the OT.

I just had to exorcise this thing in writing. It was either that or slaughter a lamb to wash myself clean.

I had and still have no desire to see it. I hate when sci-fi is used to make a preachy green peace message. I believe this movie also started the trend of every new movie coming out in the 3D format. Cameron get over yourself.

Just to complete the Cameron Collection on the shelf, I bought it sight unseen.

Meh! It was okay.

Maybe the 3D and IMAX made it better. I can see that.

Sometimes you need to watch a movie as intended.

Um, in IMAX it would just have been twice as gay, dude. :confused
It was boarderline, Fraggle-Rock already.

I saw it in both 3d and regular......3D was a little bit better than the regular version, but i still thought the movie was okay overall...honestly, the graphics have already been done and the story was not original..James Cameron supposedly spent ten years or so to make this film...If he was going to dedicate all those years to one film, i would wish it was original..It was predictable as well...movie was mediocre at best...the main character's avatar looked like Brendan Fraiser too

Stick to your guns, man. Just avoid it. :thumbsup

A ten year old could have written the script, But I wanted to see it in 3D, and just enjoyed the ride.

Saw it in IMAX3D, after a few weeks of avoiding it.....it was ok. I liken it to a flick like Independence Day. Entertaining enough, but little more than another mindless summer blockbuster. The script was a rehash of (pick your poison: Pocahontas, Dances with Wolves, Fern Gully), I think 3D is utterly gimmicky and not worth my time. Nothing was really extraordinary about the film.

I waited until it was on blu-ray and watched it. I fast forwarded through the many, long "look at the wonderful planet we're on!" and "Yay! I'm flying on a rainbow colored dragon!" scenes. While the effects were great, I thought the movie was just ok.

It was very good. I saw it as intended at the theater and that might have made a difference. Even though the plot is derivative, it's got great action and was beautifully made!

I think it's trendy for people to hate on everything these days but I don't usually follow the trends.

This is a movie you either hate or love.

I can't watch this without being amazed by the settings and creature designs, and I like the story, even if it is derivative, but I can understand why some may find it dull or boring or downright bad.

For me it was an Ok movie, Glad I didn't spend the cash at the theater, I was going to say it was a very bad dune remake but the pocahontas remake fits better!

I gather it also is a movie you ahve to see on the big screen in 3D. It's not built for home viewing. Which probably means unless they re-release it, I'll never bother watching it or liking it if I do ultimately see it.

I never saw it in the theater (3D) I hate going to the theater any more. I did watch it at home and thought the visuals pretty fantastic. The movie was ok but the sound and CGI more than made up for any neg about the actual storyline. Mind you I have 120" screen with THX level sound so could make a difference. ;)

If a movie is any good, it'll be good in 2D - on a 3 inch b/w screen. When I was even poorer than I am now, we watched all our movies on such a screen. Such widescreen spectacles as 2001, SW, Lawrence of Arabia still managed to bear us completely away into the cinematic worlds of their directors. If a movie is only really watchable in 3D in a movie theatre it can't be much cop.

I thought it was fairly decent. Very glad I got it on Netflix and didn't pay too much to see it.

You're a rebel, dude! :rolleyes
