Mama (Post-release)

re: "Mama"- Trailer looks interesting

Del Toro makes it a must-see for me, so I'm definitely in.

"Mama" Post Release!

Holy crap Del Toro crafted a hell of a movie!!! Freaky from beginning to end, it was amazing!!! The Mama creature makeup was amazing too, very spooky. It was almost entirely practical effect too, the only CGI was supposedly the hair on the creature.

There was a short posted by two people that got him to do the movie: MAMA Short Film with intro from Guillermo del Toro - YouTube

I'm afraid to go see that _Mama_. It looks too creepy. If anyone in the audience jumps I'd probably pee myself. :lol

Just saw the movie last night. It was amazing up until the last 20 mins. Then it was like the writer said enough already and had gotten lazy and i don't know. I would deffinately watch it again. It started strong with a great character in Lily. I had wished for a strong finish. I do recommend this movie to all 8 out of 10 for me...GM

I liked it, wore ear plugs so the stupid cheap noise scares won't bother me. I will say the Ending isn't the best, but the movie on a whole was great enough that I could let it slide and accept it.

I didn't know the girlfriend in the movie is the same woman from "zero dark thirty" it's like day and night but same actress.

And the uncle is Jaime Lannister from "Game of Thrones"

I knew that guy looked familiar! I just couldn't place it.
overall I loved the movie, I thought mama was a genuinely creepy character and the way she moved just added to the effect.

The ending I thought was better than others of the same plot line. She didn't cecede when she was given the remains and kept at it. The butterfly thing I thought was kinda left field though.

only other nitpick I have is with the night scenes in the kids bedroom. I don't know if it was a strong moonlight or what, but the bright light shining through the curtains threw me off when it was supposed to be late at night.

Overall two thumbs up from me :thumbsup

I want my $8.50 back. I thought it was made for cheap chills with - save Jessica Chastain, who was tolerable - terrible acting. Too many loose ends, too many cheap shots and just a not very good flick.

It is a horror movie...That just comes with the territory. If you don't like cheap scares there is a long list of horror movies that are offenders. I won't be to disappointed if I miss this in theaters, but am still interested in seeing it.

Agreed... to an extent. I've seen some real good horror movies. But, between the (mostly) terrible acting and the simply horrendous ending - I was just complately taken aback, especially since the reviews were fairly good.

The makes The Lady In Black or any of the Paranormal Activity movies look like an Oscar winner.

It seems pretty creepy.Im sad that no movie theaters accept people under 18 in that movie in meh country. Also to **** your friends up watch that movie on your own then get the movies DVD and watch it at 3 am with your friend and when you are watching just wait for a silent moment and punch your friend in the leg saying DIE!It seemed to knock my friend of the couch while we were watching Paranormal Activity

Saw it Saturday, and it creeped the hell out of me. It was good throughout except for the ending.
