Don't bother with the Haunted Studios it's way off.

Someone on the forum produced a fine dingus, I suggest the use of the search button to find the thread on it.;)

I have one as well as a rare limited run MK produced version from several years ago.

It's the bird that made the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs. The stuff that dreams are made of. :sleep

Ozymandius made some a while back. He is currently doing a Raiders Idol.

His Maltese Falcon is fantastic. I would hold out for one. Everything else I have found is a waste of money.

There are great pictures of one of the resin Dinguses that was found at a flea market from when it was sold at Christie's a few years back.

I also just want to vouch for the quality of Oz's bird. Flawless work. He's got a real eye for detail. His dingus is the next best thing to hoping to The real deal.

I had these images stored in my computer from one of the other Maltese Falcon threads.

And I have to concur with what others have already said. The Maltese Falcon statue that Ozymandius offers is simply stunning! I've got the weighted version and words just don't do it justice. At this point I don't know of a better version out there than his.

Let me ask you is the bird top or bottom heavy with so much weight stuck in a small statue Or does it feel like its distributed throughout ?

I would hazard to guess none. They had the hero bird (Possibly a second) made of lead, possibly one or two resin birds, and then unknown number of plaster birds used for promotion.

There were never that many, sadly. And some of the ones that WERE accounted for have since been stolen. The thieves probably knew what they got, so they're probably not using them to prop open any doors.

In my opinion the weight feels very evenly distributed throughout. Definitely a top-notch piece.

Someone was selling Sam Spade wallets with badges and a few paper props with them. It was a great set and looks great displayed next to the statue.

In April the Central Film Assocation hosted a showing in Fresno, Ca. It was sold out and promoted the Oz DeShaw falcon #1. The display with examples of all firearms in the film, a Colt 45, a Colt 1908 pocket pistol and a Webley Fosbery (also made by Oz). The badge and paper props finished the display (by sctcarts and Eltee). The star was Oz's weighted bronze falcon. A line formed so everyone could hold it and photo with it. You could see it was meaningful to film fans to make a connection with the "Maltese Falcon."

Because two of the guns were real, they hired two professional armed guards. However, most precieved the armed guards were there to protect the "Falcon". It gave the display something special.

Great afternoon watching the film on the big screen in a historic theater (The Tower).

I understand that Oz reserved #1 for Adam but that did not happen so it is on tour.

    I beam with pride. :)

BTW, I just did a Falcon with the 24k gold treatment that I'm doing for the Raiders Idols. Should be back from the platers any day now. Will post some pics as soon as it's in.

    :eek

There are not enough of those jaw dropping emoticons to express what is going through my brain right now.

    That. Is. Gorgeous. Oz.

The only way you could improve that would be if the gold peeled away leaving a chocolate falcon. :lol

Seriously though, that is incredible. I don't know what else to say.

Yep, I am beaming with pride. I've actually pulled off two of the Holy Grails in prop collecting. A 24k gold Maltese Falcon and a 24k Raiders Idol.

It's been a good week to be me. :)
