Making masking templates

Im thinking about making some Aztec masking templates for the 1/350 NX-01. Someone has very nicely posted the designs on the net, thank god, and i have some low tack Frisket film i can print them on to. Has anyone had any luck with this as i cant seem to get the film to stick to the model enough to be a useful airbrush mask (on a trial run with just the film). Has anyone here used Frisket film with any success or do you use something else to create the templates? Also i intend to use the wife's Cricut machine to cut the templates out, she doesn't know that yet though.............

What tips would you give?
