making a mold from foam armor?

Hey guys I'm working a bat suit and bought some templates for boots and gauntlets from the foamcave. I was curious if I could make the gauntlets out of foam and then make a mold with them and cast the pieces in latex. If this is not possible what material could I use?

What kind of foam are you using?

First, I would ask what you gain from using the latex over the foam? Foam is cheaper, and a heck of a lot more forgiving.

To make a master out of foam you would need to seal it completely, then strengthen it, then coat it with something easily sand able to get it to a smooth cashable surface, then add paint to reveal any pinhole imperfections, fix them with spot putty, and finally put a smooth finish on that.

How would you actually prep the foam master? I am looking to do this to be able to cast the armor in resin. With the little research that I have done, I have not found a tutorial/step by step instruction to creating a foam master.

I'd be using EVA foam but Vox pretty much hit the nail on the head with everything I would have to do.
