Making a Metroid (The Monster, not the Varia Suit)

So I AM making a Varia Suit, but I'd like to also have a pet metroid as a prop. I have no idea how to go about creating this thing. The design is simple enough--it's a blob with four little fangs that stick out at the bottom. Problem is, I'm not sure how to create a transparent blob with veins structured inside. Check out the below link and photos for examples of what some other people have done:

Do you guys have any ideas?

I really like how the guy in the link did his. It looks as if I could use a large top fish bowl, then sculpt the bottom out of super sculpey, and use styrofoam balls for the innards.

It sounds like you have an idea of how that one was made, why not just do that?

For me, I'd go the extra mile and end up making a clear rubber one with the innards and lower, exposed claws out of plastic.

Outside of suspending sculpted innards in clear resin, I would approach this by sculpting a base with all four teeth and on top of it, I'd mount the veiny/organy bits out of a material that could stand unassisted but also be able to flex. Then I would place an acrylic sphere with a hole cut out of the bottom of it on top of the base, threading the veins into it. After securing the dome to the base, I would sculpt over the seam with Apoxie Sculpt, adding further details to make it look like the legs are actually protruding from the sphere.
