this is me in my Asajj using the above makeup and fixer spray. This was the end of the day at Celebration Europe after wearing the makeup all day. i think only bit i redid was the nose as i get itchy nose! :D -

those are truly awesome, great work!! So I've decided, especially after seeing those, that after this I just need to save up and get an air brush, that's the only way to get a completely even coat... thanks for all your help!
now onto my progress!

So after 5 face washes, a mini break down, and a whole bottle of moisturizer later...
This is what I've come to the conclusion of...
I need an airbrush!

Until then all of your tips and hints and info really helped me a lot and this is what I ended up doing that worked.

First I did the super moisturizer combo with the light photofinish (i did forget to spray the final seal on after I let that stuff soak in... I was totally and completely frustrated at this point...)

Then I decided after many tries with the Mehron to try the cream foundation again. I got this to go on very evenly and it didn't look dry or emphasize (as much) my pores or any other scaring, etc... this was good!

Then I powdered that and sealed it with the final seal and moved onto the black. I used the Mehron for this and it worked very well (DO NOT get this stuff in your eye! :eek) I left a section around my eye that I filled in with the HIP smudge pot worked very well and you can get that in your eye without burning...I sealed this again with the final seal

Then I did my lipstick and the "Make-up" for the white eye: some shimmery white shadow, eye liner, mascara and a streak of red so far so good... sealed all this and this is what it looked like!

much better!
If you look at my neck though I used the Mehron on that and I just couldn't get it to not streak on my face and neck. On my hands and the black on my eye were great! I think my skin is just against costuming in general...

And this is most of the rest the costume!
Sorry for the bad bathroom myspace shots there's no other good lighting in the house and as for smiling black lipstick is not very forgiving on teeth, whitening strips it is for the next few weeks!
(and yes I'm going to dye my hair so you don't see the roots, paint my nails black, and put make-up on my hands)

Thanks for all your help, you guys saved me so much time! :D
Tell me what you think or if there's anything you would do differently!

I have been watching this thread in hopes of finding a better method of doing joker makeup. Tons of great ideas here. Thanks for posting the pictures of the results.

It could just be that Mehron doesnt suit your skin. I first used Fardel cream body makeup when i did Asajj and it was ok..but i found it blotched fast. As soon as i changed to Kryolan i stopped having those issues.

The face makeup looks fantastic!

Thanks again so much you really helped me out and saved me a lot of time!! I think I'll save up for an air brush or try the kryolan next, and thanks so much! You keep up the fantastic work also!!

Sorry to hear the Mehron didn't work for you! :unsure As Sakara said, some makeup just doesn't agree with some skintypes. An airbrush might very well be your next best step. At the end of the day, if you're really into costuming you probably won't regret a purchase like that, you'll end up finding new uses. :)

I've done my lips and mask in plain black before and I used my boyfriend's paint, made by Wolfe Bros., painted on with a small lip brush, and it was remarkably effective at staying on. It tends to flake just a little bit on the lips (but we're talking after like 5-8 hours of running around a convention so really that's not a big complaint) but unlike liptstick it doesn't smudge and I didn't find that it was constantly getting all over my teeth. If you're interested in seeing any images of how that tends to work I've got a couple I can post. The mask around my eyes that I painted on with it is so pure black it looks like photoshop, I was very happy with it. (A little less so with the shape I made but that's my own fault lol, what can you do.)

Yea I think most things hate my skin, haha:lol
But thanks so much for all the help and it was weird the white Mehron didn't work but the black worked great... oh well
I would love to see pictures of that, that would probably also come in handy for my husband with the black on his eyes for Batman, we've had some problems finding a good black, (especially one that doesn't get all over my teeth, that looked awful!!) thanks!!

Thanks guys!!! @skeletonman no convention yet I was asked to do "x-men day" at a local comic shop, but it's July 8th so I wanted to get this figured out fast especially since it's so hot here....

thats cool. so the comics people around you know you pretty well, huh?

you make Marvel proud

I would very strongly Sugggest the Kryolan Aquacolor as it stays on really well with a sealant spray and is very light on your skin even with multiple coats. Also I've found that it works best when applied with a sponge and lightly dabbed on. Thats how I got mine to work and I had quite a few people comment on how it looked like my skin was actually that color. Hope this all helps and good luck on your costume you look great for domino.

The main problem with any pact makeup is it needs water to activate, if your skin is of the dry type it will leach any moisture it can out of your skin even with prep.

And i wish to apologise..ive been mixing up my brands. Best liquid makeup is by FARDEL or Ben Nye...ugh too many brands i tried at one point!

Anyway this is the one - im sure you can find it in local store
Fardel - tiny bottles..but goes a long way!!!
Fardel Liquid Colours

ben Nye - (this is the one Twilekpam recommended to me, and its only recently become available in the UK..but wow..does it stay on with little touchup. She uses it for her twilek costumes when she is going to wear it for a one day event..she uses airbrush ink if she knows she needs to be in it longer)

I plan on trying this and the one Sakara was recommending next time I dress as Domino or any other character that needs intense make-up, but I've spent more money on this than I planned for the moment so I'm going to wait, the event is only two hours and after I took those pictures I scooted around the house for at least that long and it held up just fine. Thanks again for all the tips, it helps so much!!

Awesome thanks again! Ben Nye they sell locally here and they sell most of the product line so that's good to know. Next time I dress as her I'll give one of these a try!!

Thanks again for everyone's help! Went to X-men day and everything stayed on like it was supposed to! They even had the air go out and the make-up stayed put! I still think i'm going to invest in an airbrush, the paint on my hands was a little blotchy. If I find some close -up pictures from the day were my eyes are actually open I'll post them!
