Major re-launch of my online collection album.

son of a... seriously?! So apparently work has now blocked picasa too. So that's picasa, flickr, and photobucket. So annoyed.

Nice! A local guy who collects Alien stuff! Start saving so I can unload my 1:1 stuff on you. I really don't want to ship that stuff. :lol

I do think you should add a few pictures at the end to show how everything comes together.

Cool. I don't want to pay for shipping. However, I have two cards that I want to pay off and my car. I should be ready to buy in the beginning of 2011. I also have an extra 1:4 Sideshow Aliens Queen bust to trade. One
is enough for any collection. :)

I do think you should add a few pictures at the end to show how everything comes together.

I'm taking the photos and packing my collection up. Due to some health problems, I want to find a one floor home with a full basement in the Spokane area. I live in a multi-floor (4 levels) home with my wife and 2 dog/companions. I figure the housing market should be better about the same time I am done with all my bills (paying them off). I'll start looking for a home in 6-8 months and will have my entire collection in storage waiting for my "final" home move. I want a custom display room, with sections for the major categories (Aliens, Predators, Terminator, etc..).

My old displays can be seen here: http://oneye.blackaris2001.org/

I can understand that. Most of my collection is packed up too and we will be selling the house to help pay off some bills this summer hopefully. Then we will be in an apartment for a little while so my stuff will be in storage for a while I'm afraid.

This piece arrived in very poor condiion. Box ripped up, styrofoam busted, but nothing broken on the statue (one piece). It's 13 years old. I don't know who had it before, or how it was displayed. It looks old, dusty, but I used canned air, and a soft paintbrush as well as a 100% cotton washcloth to get as much dirt, dust, whatever was on it.

My photos suck, it's a difficult thing to take pictures of with the skin tone and the white, then all that black. I do not believe that it was painted as well as it should have been. Maybe the paint was of low quality, or placed on too thick in some areas, too thin in others.

I fear messing with it, but believe if the paint was safely stripped off, and repainted by a professional it would look so great. What are your thoughts of this piece?

I would have used some kind of red, translucent gemstone for the ring. A wall going up the right side of the stairs, with a cathedral type window somewhere along the wall that has long since lost its glass. A wall torch?
A rat on one of the stairs?

This is such a cool piece and took years to get it. I am searching to see if any other monster statues were made like this. Born in 1960, I used to love watching the B&W Creature Features.

This next item is from that Van Helsing Movie. This piece is so impressive and powerful lights. The sculpt, texture, paints. This would be one hell of a 12-16" statue. He's not the classic Frankenstein Monster we grew up with, but this design worked for me. The movie didn't impress me, but this bust, big thumbs up!

Another new version of the Wolf Man, the movie "An American Werewolf in London" was well received by me and my friends. I think it was the first time you (we) saw a very painful, and detailed transformation. I know I was empathizing and squirming in my seat watching it.

Just sharing my collection. Wondering what your thoughts are. Seeing if some of you like the same things I do, and maybe would post what different things you may have yourselves.

I love that film.

Still, the main reason I love it is because it's so darn scary :lol I don't think I could display one of those werewolves anywhere in my house without giving myself a start every time I saw it.

...Which leads me to wonder how much creepier it'd be if I had one of Spina Designs' full-sized werewolves... :wacko :eek

David Naughton (David Kessler) did such a great job in the film.

Jenny Agutter (Nurse Alex Price) was incredibly sexy (as usual).

Griffin Dunne (Jack Goodman) when he showed up, and continued to decay was unexpected and extremely well done. A series of busts of him in various stages of decomp would book spooky cool to add to a collection.

You take great photographs of your collection....really nice....:thumbsup

Thanks. I am working hard to improve. They always look "grainy" (correct term?) to me.

Ugh, I hate finding broken stuff in the boxes.

Fixed it though.

What a hassle trying to photograph this. Faux bronze. The background is white, but if I adjust, or try to adjust contrast, colors, it throws everything off. Then, the red color reflects off the bronze color. I should take a class in how to take pictures.

It will depend on your digital camera. Grain in the image is caused by the ISO setting of your camera. I set mine to the lowest ISO setting (100) so that the camera doesn't increase the "gain" and therefore the noise. That "grain" is actually just digital noise in the chip of the camera as its sensitivity is increased. If you are using a tripod (and you should), you can simply increase the exposure time (if you can) and the camera may or may not go then with a lower ISO (if it does that automatically). But the idea situation is longer exposure and lowest ISO setting using a tripod.

Your camera also should have white balance correction. Look for that in the manual. On my Sony I hit a button in a particular menu setting and it does a test image and then corrects for the white balance, which makes it a snap to correct for the color temperature of the ambient light you are using.

BTW my favorites in your collection are the Sinful Suzy and the Tooned-up Maquette. Yowsa! :love It might seem funny but the Tooned-up Maquette looks interestingly a bit like my fiance when she smiles....
