I've decided to start creating several other paper props from the world of MPI, and I thought I'd see if anyone had any ideas for things they'd like to see.

I've already done the driver's license, and am finishing a version of the ISLAND HOPPERS card (conjecture as it was never seen in the series). I also plan to do the KING KAMEHAMEHA club business card for Rick. What about a Thomas Magnum business card?

Here's the intial design for the ISLAND HOPPERS card. Once I finalize the design, I'm going to have a run of 500 printed.

I've made the order for these and will be getting the finished cards in about a week and a half. I've post up a thread in the junkyard then...stay tuned...

I'd love to get a few of those cards count me in. A friend of mine is friends with Alfonso Riberiro. He was in a few shows as one of TC kids on the little league team. I never knew he was on the show and I can't wait to ask him about it. I'll hand him your card and see what he says about his experience.

This thing I really want to tackle is a whole Magnum Wallet set. It was mentioned on these board a while back but it never seemed to materialize. The thing I'm having a problem with is finding a velcro style wallet that's close. Anyone have ideas? The wallet used for most of the show was a canvas/hemp bi-fold with velcro flap closure. It was a tan color with dark brown piping. It had a straight sloted pocket on the right and a slanted pocket on the left.

If I could find a source for these, it would be killer to do the wallet set with the license, TC's business card, Rick's business card, a nam photo.....and what else? The show used the famous Ellis props movie money, so maybe a buck or two of that(since Magnum never had much cash?). I know that people worry about the conterfeit issue, but this is movie prop money that looks nothing like real money, hence why it was used.

Ideas?

Eltee has given me some great ideas on this set, so I'm looking at putting together the following for a full wallet set:

-Driver's license
-PI permit (very similar to the driver's license, with a different pic)
-Concealed weapons permit
-Nam photo
-Island Hoppers buisness card
-KK club buisness card
-$2 (Ellis Props style money)
-Navy credentials

If anyone else has ideas for the wallet set, throw 'em out there. Still looking for a good source for the actual wallet.

Here's a rough mock-up of Rick's KING KAMEHAMEHA CLUB business card. The portrait was made from a photo of the statue in Hawaii, and I plan to have all the yellow print and portrait done in gold foil. (808) is the area code for Hawaii, then the mock 555 prefix, and 7425 (RICK). There was never a phone number for the club mentioned on the show. I also stayed away from an address for two reasons: 1. A fixed location was never given on the show 2. Being a private club, Rick wouldn't want "unwanted" guests just showing up. I'll be finalizing these in a few days and make the order with the printer.

After a week of searching for the brown and tan cordura wallet, I've given up and decided to go with the Red, black piping, diver down style wallet seen earlier in the series.

Here's some pictures of the wallet I'm going to order, I plan to get one for myself and put the initial set together, and then if there's interest I'll go from there.

Okay, set aside the King K Club business card to tackle the Private Investigator ID. Now, I know on the show they just used a driver's license prop and added a sticker, but I wanted to create something a little more "real".

I went with the idea that lots of states have similar ID styles for state gov issued things, so I've provided a comparison pic showing my Driver's License reproduction against the working PI ID. I've also got a shot of the back of the PI ID. It doesn't show in the picture, but the thumb print is actually a bluish-black, close to real print pad ink.

As always, I'm open to suggestions. And the finished product will be part of the MAGNUM WALLET SET I'm putting together.

The running joke was that he was embarassed by his real name -- surely the cards would say 'Rick Wright', or 'Richard Wright III'?
