I have a Magic Wand Co. 12th Sonic Screwdriver and was wondering what is the best way to weather the copper parts to become less shiny and more screen accurate? Anyone done this mod?

I just finished mine. The copper parts are plated and laminated. I tried taking off the lamination but the plating is so thin that it went down to bare metal really easy. So what I did was painted the copper parts glossy black then used copper Rub n' Buff over the black.
