Made a little X-Wing

Finished slapping together my Revell Pocket X-Wing. Took less than an hour. Fairly simple and problem-free build (how could it not be?)... Couldn't seem to get the last centimeter or so of the fuselage to snap in perfectly, so have a slight gap near the butt plate. Cannons are a bit warped and really too thin to muscle much back into shape.

The build is finished but I do plan on weathering it best I can.

Stay tuned...

Re: Made a little X...

I love those little pocket kits. They are small enough and cheap enough to do the whole Red Squadron without taking up too much space.

Only problem is finding them at a reasonable price ($15 or under) including shipping since they are scarce here in the US (I don't think they ever got a proper US release).

Some sellers think they are made of precious metals as I have seen them going for as much as $88 recently

Yup - the geometry of the model seems pretty darn good, all things considered.

My hope is that with a decent weathering job, it may pass as a "background filming model" (though I don't believe ILM ever went this small)...

They do look good, Rob. This is probably the only X-Wing within my range and skills to make Reds 1-6. :)

Looks great, PHA.

I wouldn't worry too much about the cannons on yours. I too built one of these, great little model, but the cannons on mine were in worse shape than yours. I tried to straighten them in hot water and 3 of the cannons came out perfect. The fourth not so much - the barrel went into an S shape and I could not correct it. It's so thin I was afraid to try it again or try to force it too much.

Luckily it's not that bad, I just stuck it on one of the bottom wings. Oddly I saw on another site where someone purchased one of the Hasbro toy versions of a Force Awakens X-wing and had the same problem. One of his cannons went into the same S shape when he tried straightening in boiling water.
