Whoa...what a season this is going to be :D

Don Draper's tantrum in the end, throwing the Jentzen Bikini owners out of office after they dissed his presentation, then sitting with Wall Street Journal for an interview was brilliant.

The best show on TV...again.

Nothing like getting slapped during sex with a hooker too. If anyone should be slapped right now, it's Betty. One day her daughter is going to mop the floor with her

Yeah, I loved the bit with Don at the end too. Sterling's quips were priceless throughout. My wife and I were just busting out laughing almost everytime he spoke a line. One nice little nod was Don's son at the dinner table. Totally a little Don in the making.

Jeez, it's good to know there are at least a couple other people around here who watch Mad Men. I thought I was the only one.

Yeah, poor Betty is in for a series of increasingly rude awakenings. If there's a truly tragic character in this series it's her.

Come to think of it, given the decade, they're all in for rude awakenings.

It's 1964, let's hope they're smart enough to hop onto The Beatles bandwagon, and rake in the bucks.

So what did you guys think of the first Season 4 episode? I thought it was wildly over-praised in the media. I thought the actual episode was kind of dull. Roger had a couple of fun lines... but other than that... I didn't think it was all that great. Rolling Stone had a review which called the episode something to the effect of: "One of their best in the entire series." Not to me. But maybe I'm way off. Opinions?

I think if it came off as dull it was because it's a new start and we lost a lot of main characters, most of which I liked. Didn't have the usual Mad Men feel. The characters were secure in their old world, and now they are off in uncharted territory. Don throwing out the Jentzen guys, then going into the interview was genius. He is going to blow Sterling Draper Cooper Pryce into the stratosphere.

I love the show. I must have missed something at the opening, because it took me until the end when Don was giving his interview to realize a full year had passed since last season of the show.

This is a great show to watch. It's still not worth actually owning yet for me. I found the opening episode to be as good as usual. Very strong adult dialog between some of the characters. I wonder if Don will take that fall from the opening title sequence this season...

Hmmmm.....not knowing what to think of the direction of the show. Lot's of "comedy" relief.

Weird.

I just wanted to say... last night's episode was great. One of the best ever. Jon Hamm continues to impress as an actor.

Yes, one of the best yet. A lot of character study this season. Very, very sad episode.

Yeah, the best show in TV just keeps topping itself.

The drunken brawl between Don and Duck was classic. Any other series would have had the "hero" win, but not MadMen.

Can't believe the season is almost over and what a season it's been. No one is safe from leaving the show. Each episode is not linked to the previous or next. No continuity.

This past Sunday's show was a bit traumatic.

wonder if Burt (Robert Morse) has left the show. Wonder who will not be coming back next year.

Geez i thought i was the only one with that theory! I just think the whole show will end with him jumping. The writers are great at pay offs. Its like this whole time they're saying "its going to end this way, just keep watching" haha

I don't see that at all. I've watched so many scenes within each episode with absolutely no payoff or conclusion. They just happen. At first, I would expect a followup in the next episode, then quickly learned not much is brought into the next episode from the last except one of two key plot points.

For instance, in the beginning of last season, Don was interviewed by a major magazine and blew it. There was no follow-up. I was hoping to see fall out from that.

There is nothing predictable about Mad Men.
