the black on black
love it
i recall an interview with the guy from information society and when he got famous the first thing he got was a roadwarrior car. and i thought heck yes that is the first thing any self respecting rockstar should buy

The local hobby shop had two of the kits from mad max and to this day I still haven't figured out why I never bought one. Both gone now! Gotta love the Falcon from down under... a shame the states never saw anything like that from Ford.

How did I ever miss that. No one tell my friend Marc, he would be ashamed of my car knowledge oversight and would probably remind me of it forever.:unsure

They're similar, but not the same. Every line is different, as is the glass. Just a Ford family resemblance.

The Oz Falcon is kind of the child of a mustang and a falcon mating.

do keep in mind the Mad Max Interceptor was modified

okay, not identical, but the sheet metal differences are tiny at best
the front end was very Mustang until they put the front end kit on it

The Australian Ford Falcon is also only about 2/3rds-3/4ths the size of an American Torino.

That said, the Torino is still a budget approach to putting a Max Interceptor on the American roads,
at least, compared to importing an Aussie Ford Falcon for $35,000-plus.

now my curiousity is peaked... how long is the Falcon?

189.3 inches.

I like the Black on Black Interceptor; but Max's yellow XB sedan is my favourite movie car of all time!

Yeah, those are pretty cool, gaudy, but cool. It is interesting to note that the sedans in the film were built from actual ex-police cars and one ex-taxi.

Wasn't March Hare's the ex-taxi?

One thing- I love Max's Black Interceptor in Mad Max, but couldn't stand it in The Road Warrior- it was something they did to the Monza front end. It didn't have the front spoiler underneath the grill.

madmaxcars.com I think is the website that has extensive info on the Mad Mac cars. When I have the money, I'd love to build the black on black, "last of the V8 Interceptors!" God what a badass car.

My dream car,if i ever win the lotto i want 4,max's yellow on blue interceptor, the black on black(v8 interceptor)a yellow on blue pursuit and the road warrior last of the v8's,all i gotta do is pick 6 numbers(if only it were that fecking easy:lol:lol:lol:lol)
