mad max game

This thing has been floating around my amazon front page for a while after i looked at the ps4.

I cant describe my anticipation for this game! Mad Max and Road Warrior are and will always be some of the greatest post- apocalyptic movies of all time. I have been waiting for another post apoc game to play as well...

Of course, lots of games back for the home computers around '88-'92 were heavily influenced by Mad Max. I remember a car-driving game called Overlander.

Outlander, but yeah. Good game. The driving part was unfortunately difficult and all too brief, as I recall.

I posted this over at the Mad Max: Fury Road thread. I guess it can go here too:

I can't help but think this is going to be like the new Tomb Raider mixed with Twisted Metal. My biggest worry about this is that it'll get boring really fast. I get that a lot with games that are open-world; there just comes a point where it's not 'challenging' anymore and I'm just repeating everything I did earlier in the game, again.

I'm hoping it's good, and the chases are immersive, but I can't help see what I see.

It kind of reminds me of Fall Out but I think Fall Out took inspiration from the Mad Max films

Actually, I read somewhere that Bethesda Software were originally developing this game, but the license fell through and the game was brought to another company after that.

Preordering it is probably a big risk but I figured what the heck lol. Anymore i only preorder if it's a special edition. It looks like it handles a bit like the Arkham games fight mechanic wise. I really wish Rage would have been given a chance by Bethesda, it had a chance to be a spiritual successor to Fallout. There's a good bit of Madmax in the original Fallouts even down to a few costumes and guest appearances by Dogmeat and references to Max himself.

God i hate youtube and their age verification crap. Not really fond of the voice they got for Max but it looks top notch. I actually just got a copy of Outlander for the SNES which was meant to be a Mad Max game. I wonder if this fits in with the new trilogy canon, the original or it's one all it's own. He keeps losing the car no matter what canon he's in.

At least they changed the voice to one with an Australian accent. In the first teaser he had an American accent and there was such outrage from the fans they changed the voice actor. Apparently Mel Gibson's brother also petitioned to do the voice work for Max.

The Magnum Opus is an interesting concept. I wouldn't be surprised to see kitbashed models of many Magnus Opuses, made by the users who recreated their in-game vehicle in 1/24 scale.

That would be really cool. This and MGSV are my most anticipated games of the year. I love me some car combat, let's just hope you can have a dog companion as well.

That game actually was "Wasteland" which lead to the fallout series.
