Dude you asked this question already, calm down. If you'd read through the thread you'd see there are several options that have all been mentioned. Fabians (comicguy) custom jacket, South Beach Leathers, or a leather jacket with similar features on ebay are your choices.

I just got my leather thread in the mail. It's much thinner than expected. How did you all stitch yours? Double the thread? Is mine the wrong thread, it's the same Tandy brand from maxcostume.

I just used the leather stitching for reinforcing certain parts of the battle jacket. I also plan to use it for stitching the pants.

For the jacket stitching I used black dress shoe laces. This is probably not the best option because they are somewhat rounded and a bit thick. I just removed the inner core of the laces to make them lay a little flatter. Not sure what other options are available.

Has anyone been able to identify the piston/ bracket piece attached to the outer portion of the knee brace? This is the last piece I need to complete my build.

In regards to Max's FR jacket. It appears to be missing all zippers except the main left hand side. Does anyone have any tips on removing the right hand zipper teeth as well as on the sleeve cuffs and pockets in order to modify a less accurate jacket?
 
Hi all,

I've been glued to this thread for some time now and finally decided to go for putting my own costume together. Gonna go for the final costume change.
I wanted to thank everyone who contributed to this wealth of info. Surprisingly, i was able to quickly find the battle vest from a bidorbuy seller in Cape Town :D. Also i wanted to put it out there that the seller had another one at auction that didn't sell. If you're looking you might want to keep your eyes peeled. Even with the cost of shipping it came out to less than any I've seen on the interwebs in the past week.

I got something called waxed nylon leather thread from Tandy leather on ebay really cheap and doubled it. It looks like that's exactly what is going in the movie because at points on the collar the strands look split a little.

I used black hemp cord from the Wal-mart craft section

It is easy to weather with dirt to match your jacket.

Anyone buying Karols prop jacket? I wanna see if they're good. The pictures sure don't do it justice. Are they really that accurate? The sleeve looks like it's cut wrong and the full sleeve looks like the end is stitched too thick. Has anyone preordered one?
 
South Beach Leather. I was very pleased with the quality - nice soft leather. I had to remove the liner from both sleeves because they were significantly tighter than the leather sleeves.

Shoulder pad is from Stacey Props and the knife is from Karol.

The boot in this shot doesn't look much like Max's boots in other shots. It's probably a stunt pair.
