Mad Max Fury Road Black Mask Polecat Build

Hello!
I hope everyone is having a great day
After planning and research I have decided to build the black mask polecat seen in Mad Max Fury Road. the mask itself is a bike helmet that is heat formed so that is sorted, the only problem I got is finding out what is used on the back of the mask. It looks like it's made out of rubber possibly part of a tire or along them lines, what do you guys think?

I contemplated this one myself at one time. Maybe I will jump back on it. Fury Road is great for props. Although sometimes hard to identify.

The back looks like it could be rubber or silicone pipe flashing.

 

[SquidMan]

The detail in the middle of the back is a baby doll head, with some kind of modification to its nose and mouth.
