Macross/Robotech VF-1S in 1/32 scale?

I just ordered the 1/32 Trumpeter F-14D model kit and was thinking (actually more like dreaming) of trying to convert it into a VF-1S Valkyrie fighter from Robotech. Has anyone ever tried this before?

I saw the thread about the 1/24 scale scratch build, which is AWESOME, but I just don't have the skills to do something like that. How difficult do you think it would be to build off the F-14 platform? I can tell right away the nose cone and canopy would need to be re-shaped; as well as the wings, intakes, thrusters, and vertical stabilizers...

Okay, it would be A LOT of work. Does anyone make conversion parts?

I'm the guy that did the 1/24 valk.....In my opinion its easier to do a full scratch than convert another kit, at least if you want it to really look right. I considered doing a 1/48 f14 conversion long before any of the 1/48 stuff was available and it was just too much work, or at least as much work as just starting from the beginning. That's just my 2 cents...

Thanks Mike. I really wish they would've (or someday will) develop both the fighter and the gerwalk versions in either 1/48 or 1/32 scale.
