M-31 Firefox, scale plane replica

Here's the new defense pod master pattern. Please note the tiny barrels inside the holes... since these pics were taken, I've molded and cast 5 of these for the master patterns, modified the vertical stabilizer to accept one of these as well as well as two more for the wings.

Sorry bout that, gang.
I do have a few pics though, I've been working hard at my job(getting busy at mouse house. ya know) so haven't had much time to work on this, but it's getting done. Can't wait to get this pice finished and molded..

:eek

That actually looks like Clint Eastwood circa 1983.

There's nothing wrong with being busy...it's job security.

Keep up the great work.

I really wanted to add my two pennies here and say that the work on this particular item is outstanding. I too look forward to the finished result as its about the closest most people will ever get to the real thing, which seems to have disappeared.

Hey, thanks gang.
funny you should mention "getting as close to the real thing", I confess I have quite a bit of photo reference of the Hero model, as this is what I'm trying to recreate, and just a few days ago something amazing happened. I was searching google and looking through Firefox images when a image popped up of a familiar part of the plane. A wing tip complete with red star. I immediatly contacted the place that had it and put a downpayment on it after confirming it was screen used and the real mcoy..So excited as this is my first screen used prop (piece) purchase. It also helps me finally end my quest.(grail search for proper paint color and shades). So, when this replica is done, I should have an exact match so when I paint one of these things, the scheme will be replicated as close as possible, including the weathering. Anyway, I thought I'd share that bit of luck I recently had....

That's a pretty cool little bit of serendipity, for sure.

It will definitely help in getting a feel for the overall weathering pattern, and the right wing will be a definite match. :lol

yup, lol... got to add end caps to my wing tips now...then they'll match. Minor details but every bittle lit helps.

Howdy gang,
By the way, this wing tip will be of benefit to all who commission a kit, cause once i match the paint shades , they will added to the paint guide so commisioned kits or built ups will have it exact to the filming piece.pretty cool ehh.

ok now then since everyone seems to want me to do this here's goes

I'm starting and interest list for this piece, I was going to wait, but as everyone said, it couldn't hurt... so..lets get started shall we...
Best,
Will

Many years ago I got to visit Apogee while they were working on the Firefox. They were gluing and rubbing down aliminum foill on it the day I was there.

I've wanted a model of one ever since. If there is a list someplace, please put me on it.
