M-13 Fifth Element Police Blaster Pics and Review

The police blaster is "clean" at the moment... I haven't decided if I want to weather it or not. It's a beastie, too.

The kit was a joy to build. Parts were uber clean. Very minimal filling or sanding. I think I spend a whopping hour and a half on prep, and most of that was fixing what the dog destroyed. All the parts went together effortlessly too. Total start to finish was about 3 working hours.

I used John Deer yellow on the main body. The metallic parts are Dupli-Color Millennium Silver.

The clip "parkerizing" was achieved by spraying ultra-flat black, then rubbing in some powdered pencil lead. I then sealed it with hair spray.

Due to my dog eating the grip, I ended up covering the whole part in Bondo, and sanded the entire thing smooth. Because the molded screw heads were lost from the sanding, I bored them out and used heads cut from the real thing to replace them.

If you haven't gotten one, I'd highly recommend this piece to add to your collection.

Now....on to the eye candy.
Enjoy.

Seriously...? (or are you kidding?) it IS funky, but sort of cool. VERY nice paint up.

Thanks guys.

Like I said, starting with a quality kit is the biggest thing. The paint is just the topping. This particular weapon's design is so different from most sci-fi blasters, that I had to get it.

Very nice build-up, but (I hate to say this), but weren't the Police Blasters Gold?

The Fhloston Paradise Security version was blue, but I was sure the Police ones were Gold. Happy to be wrong.

I love the parkerized fingerprints on the clip... ;)

That came out sweet. I always thought that particular gun was ugly and awkward looking, but yours makes me think different... :thumbsup

I've just watched the movie again & I'm sure the Police guns are gold + the colour flows through inside the flared area at the front of the gun, around the barrel & 'sensors'.

I feel like the most pedantic person in the world :(

I would have said they're a metallic yellow not gold - I think Renault or Citreon used to have a similar colour a few years ago.
