Lynch Dune Crysknife Comparison.

Looking for a Fremen Crysknife (Lynch) expert to answer a few questions. :)

I saw a beautiful example of one over at xxxxxxx.com that is a greyzon productions. I was wondering if anyone knows how the Reel Art version stands up against it.
The pics I have seen of the Reel Art version are not very good.

Been a while since I have seen Dune, I am a big fan of the books and am wondering if the silver or gold cap is accurate. If any of you have any screen caps it would be greatly appreciated.

Any information (prop or replica version) whatsoever, would be helpful.

Thanks :)

The Reel Art is a recast of the GreyZon :unsure

Here is a 3rd generation casting (a copy of a copy) of a film crysknife, with a real GreyZon below... and a reproduction of the SciFi miniseries knife at the bottom.

If memory serves, both silver and gold are accurate - I believe Paul's knife had silver fittings, and I think in a scene near the end Alia handles a crysknife that has gold fittings.

thanks for the info Ronin.

Is the Reel Art recast as good as the greyzon (quality wise)?

I would prefer a Greyzon. Are they available anywhere?
Any idea of price?

While I don't have one of Reel Art's knives, I have purchased another item from them and I WAS NOT happy with the quality (or the lack thereof).

Rell Art's recast is a piece of junk....but, a GreyZon version is not easy to come across. They have been OOP for years.

I believe I have a Reel Art from eBay. Bought a long time ago, in college, before the words "recast" were even in my vocabulary. It's not very good. Details are shoddy. It lacks the crispness of the Greyzon. Which is probably because it is a recast. The paint job is lack luster as well.

Thanks for your input dropshipbob, docholl and defyitall. I do appreciate it.

So the Greyzon is long gone :cry

I think I will keep my eyes peeled in the junkyard any idea if they come up often?

Real Grey Zon pieces don't pop up all that often, although I did see one about a week or two ago.
But before that, I can't remember the last time.
