Luthen Rael's Macrobinoculars from Star Wars: Andor Identified

Maybe that part is some sort of opto interrupter.

Anyone figure out how to get the front silver mounting ring off?
It should look like this to convert into the prop.
I opened mine up last night, but still couldn't find a way to get the ring off.

It’s threaded on. Take a pair of channel locks or a strap wrench to it. You might put a little WD-40 on it first. If I was home, I could show you a picture of the threads. But they’re straightforward.

I bought a broken one a few months back. It was missing the front piece. Does this shot of the front help you see how it’s screwed together?

Anyway, I don’t think I’ll be building this prop if anyone wants to send me a PM about picking this up from me. Otherwise I’ll add it to my next junkyard listing.

The dial face is removed for the prop too.
This is easy. Just a small set screw in the side holding it on.
The real prop has the slotted set screw on this black disc on the opposite side. I haven’t figured out if this black disc can be turned 180 degrees or maybe it’s just a variation of these things.

Going to have to trust the Parts of SW geeks to know that:

1. The dial face is removed. From the side of the prop we never see, even!
2. The bright shiny disk on top is not an "imperial disc".
3. The lens mounts were cut down.

None of the screen captures I've been able to get show me that detail. I would LOVE to see some more pictures of this prop if anyone has any, hint, hint.

I ordered the second microscope piece ... Now, I need the lens.
But to be honest ... I was lost in space with the discussion.
What is or might be the correct lens for Luthen's Macrobinoculars?
WTF ... the trader ignored my order, and sold it to someone else
Now, I have to go back, and need to find a new (used) one :(

About the Phillips screw. Do we agree It was replaced by a M2 x 4mm pan head screw?

I also was able to get a Microscope by a fraction of what I paid for my first binocular. Looking for useful parts. So far just an iris, but is bigger than used on prop

Yeah, that’s the one I was wondering about in a prior post. Cool that you got the whole microscope, I would love to get the whole thing! I have the eyepiece/binocular part and the main body/backbone.

I paid 81 euros (shipped from Spain) for the first binocular part and 100 dollars for the whole thing (shipped locally)

I finally removed the back disc. That's the way I found the black disc. I was really hard find the set screw. I was looking in the wrong place
