Luke's Lightsaber: Identification Help Please!

I got given this kit here by a friend, who had bought it years ago on eBay. It's a pretty damn mediocre kit, but I reckon it'll clean up fairly well. It's very clearly a garage kit, far from professional in almost every way; there are at least 10 inaccuracies or faults I've found with it so far. My question is can anyone identify the original maker or parts? Out of curiosity really, and to see if anyone else has the same thing.

Looks like a sink tube saber, but I don't recall all the different folks who made those back in the day.

hmm I think it's just one made from scratch, if so it's not too bad of a replica
