Lukes ANH Lightsaber

what do you mean by sinktube?

The original lightsaber prop was made from part of a Graflex camera, which was a camera often used in the 1940's - 50's. The flash-tube, or the section under the large lens that held the batteries used to light up the "flash" was the section used for the lightsaber.

That lightsaber in the link above was made from a common household plumping pipe, otherwise known as a sinktube. It's not a replica, but it looks pretty good for $40.00. If you want a replica, don't buy it. If you just want something that kinda looks like a lightsaber, that's a good choice.

If you're like me, you'd want to save up for the Graflex. I did, and it's my favorite prop I own.

Check out my replica, and see if you want something like it, or if you'd be happy with what you've found.

Actually, I see you already found that thread, lol. Well, compare the two, and if it's "close enough" for you, go ahead and get it.

Yea I had seen that about a month ago, thought the two were similar. I think I might pick this one up to start with and to put with my Luke x-wing pilot costume.

Not a bad plan. Save up for the Graflex, they're hard to find cheap. That's actually a fairly good deal for $40.00.

i almost got this same one,i was going to pretty much scrap the whole lower half though and making something a little more accurate, but i ended up getting a parks graflex replica and a conversion kit on ebay and the graflex replica is just amazing. im still waiting for the conversion kit to come in though.

There's another old thred about this saber and the seller, voltage2010.

I quote myself :

I bought one some months ago, it was my first saber and i almost knew nothing about it.

Now, i just can say it's a crappy replica. Almost everything is inaccurate and badly done, the grips are particularly insanely bad.
For a cheaper price, just grab an empty FX lightsaber hilt, it would be MUCH worth the money.

My two cents.

Of course.
The grips are different, the "glass eye" on the ANH has been replaced with a red button on the ESB version. The activator is different too.

BTW the FX ESB is larger than the original, when the ANH one seems pretty accurate.
