Received mine today, parts look really good. No problems with the rod and bearing fitting inside, just slides all the way to the end on mine. Bearing fit snug but am able to slide it up and down with just a little force so have a shaft collar attached to the end. Will have to do a little sanding to get the pommel to fit inside.

A bunch of you should be receiving kits this week. When you do, I need you to open them as soon as you can, inspect your parts, and let me know if you need to return anything. So far only a couple of parts have shown up with dings and nicks. But, I'm working with my shop to have a couple of parts repaired, and they want to know what my total number of returns will be.

I already sent mine back to you. Do you have an idea of turn around?

What are they doing to "repair", I don't want any metal taken off if it can be helped... I'd just prefer replacement parts if that's ok...?

Your new parts went in the mail about an hour ago. You should have them in two days. I'm having the shop re-machine any damaged parts, since I don't want to eat the cost of their errors.

Mine arrived a few days ago. Took a quick look then just to check everything out and a closer look today. No problems here. Everything looks great. The rod is a tighter fit than the first run but I don't see any problems arising. These are beautiful Dan! Thanks!

Got mine today! So exciting! It's got a handful of small dings on it, but nothin that bothers me and requires repairing. I'm gonna bang it up proper anyway. The pieces don't immediately all fit together without issue, but I'm seein if I can get it worked out now. Sanding to fit the pommel first, then I'll take a look at the shaft and bearing. Lookin like I might have a similar issue to tomm1999. If so I'll follow his example and replace the bearing with a shaft collar. I'll see.

Got mine today. Wow, is this thing beautiful! Mine arrived with the rod on the bearing, though not all the way on. So, with a little oomph, I popped it off. The pommel will need just a bit of sanding, but only just a bit. It's just ever so slightly off. I could force it on... but I ain't gonna. It's better to be too wide than to be too thin.
It's wonderful to have, & can't wait till I have it together.

I got mine and parts look great! A few machine marks, nothing serious, + a few added nicks and a ruined bearing by me from multiple attempts to keep the bearing on the shaft straight = the beginnings of a more weathered saber :lol. I ended up going with the collar sleeve from the "mystery chunk set" and just sanded a little off the inside with a pin punch wrapped in sandpaper. Works great, looks better:thumbsup.

Excellent kit and man, I've never seen such tight tolerances before. While not my first ROTJ Luke, it is a long awaited V2 that I'm glad I waited for. It is my favorite of the two, and the "history" or evolution of the piece from ANH to ROTJ is so cool.

Now about the application of the stencils: Is there a specific starting point for each piece; ala "if the clamp is 12 o'clock then you want to start every piece at...", or something similar?

It looks like the shaft color option is working out better for everyone. I had to go with a different bearing supplier for this run, and maybe that was a mistake. But, I'm glad that everyone seems to be working things out without serious incident.

Just got mine today, Bering it a bit tight, a drill press I think can fix it, Pummel will take some Messaging to fit as well . now just to clean up the main body and paint and assemble. A little disappointing in the fact that it looks like the pummel was dropped as there's a finger nail sized gouge in the base of it, but I think In can work it out.

its only about a 1/32" deep, If my buddy can mill that much off easily I'll keep it, I'll be seeing him this week. Thanks for the offer, If need be I'll let you know. For now I'll see how it goes

I had the same problem. I took one end of the rod and placed it on my anvil, and then hammered it so it wasn't perfectly round. Then slid the bearing on to it until it wouldn't go any further, where you hammer.

Your kit should've come with three set screws. Two go into the emitter nipple to hold it in place against the rod. The third goes near the bottom to hold the pommel in place. The supplied bearing is what holds the rod in place inside the body.

I had the same problem. I took one end of the rod and placed it on my anvil, and then hammered it so it wasn't perfectly round. Then slid the bearing on to it until it wouldn't go any further, where you hammer.

My bearing was very difficult to get on and off of the rod too, but you don't need to hammer it. I just took some 220 grit sandpaper to the rod until I could slide the bearing on and off with a snug fit. Once the bearing is on, the top needs to be at precisely 3.442" from the end of the rod. This is why some people are using an additional shaft collar to hold their bearing in place. I need to go get one myself.
