Limited Run Luke V2 liightsaber (Second Run) Sign up thread

I tried using a wooden dowel to make sure the bearing isnt crooked or anything. The rod is still cambered, and if attached to the bearing can only go sar far until the friction stops it. If you look at this pic you will see one lip of the inner collar of the bearing and how off centered it is. Any suggestions?

It looks like you didn't actually put the bearing all the way onto the shaft before you stuck it into the saber body. You need to take the bearing and shaft out of the saber. Slide the bearing further onto the shaft, until the top of the bearing is situated 3.442" from the end of the shaft, and make sure the bearing is straight on the shaft. Then, once you have aflixed the bearing onto the shaft and made sure it's on straight, you can put the assembly back into the saber.

So I went for a v1 look on mine. May still switch it up to a v2 as intended since I already bought the clamp, card, lever, and stencils but this was quick an easy. Took a little over an hour to polish paint and assemble.

What do you guys think?

But this is the most accurate V2 replica to date. Make it a V2 and sell the other one that isn't a Solo's Hold.

Where'd you get your hero control box from?

Point made and I will make it into a v2 after all. Just gotta swap to the graflex, remove the bronze paint, and repaint with stencils. Should be quite easy.
As far as the control box. Its a MR box that I had laying around from a old project. I just polished it to match the polish on the hilt.

I think it looks great with the V1 paint! Besides, we all know V2 was the real "Hero" saber unless you count 2 seconds of screen time and a deleted scene.

That was a great Idea for what to do while I wait on my new clamp from Roman. I already had a V2 assembled so I took the clamp and card from it as a placeholder on the new hilt and replace it with Roman's later. I had a MR FX Luke ROTJ that I had taken apart, so I used the triangle ring and the activation box to make a V2 / Hero hybrid. My OCD doesnt let me have unfinished props sitting for too long, so this definitely help calm down my anxiousness.

Lol that's kind of what pushed me to paint it up hero style. It's so easy to remove and repaint. Takes really no time to make it a v1. Had the parts laying around and I too am waiting for my clamp which now is looking like another month.
Otherwise I may just strip it and sell it. It's my only static hilt currently.

In my case, I already have a hero on its way from saberforge.com, plus I had already done a V2 paint job on my old saber ( not accurate but my humble attempt many years ago to recreate what I thought the V2 looked like). So a hybrid for my is kind of a cool option to not have 2 of the same, specially if one is gonna look not so accurate.

Just curious, what paint did you use for the copper part? It looks spot on!

It's funny I didn't really care about being perfect since at heart it's a v2 and I knew I might strip it so I looked at a picture then looked in my paint bin and didn't really have a good match so I mixed two sprays. I did one full coat with a lowes brand gold then dusted rustoleum antique brass metallic til I got the color I liked.
