Limited Run Luke V2 liightsaber (Second Run) Sign up thread

You need the lever for your clamp from Roy at WannaWanga. See first page for link. I think it's listed as Luke V2 Lever or something similar. The V2 lever is different than the lever that comes with the clamp
Hi. Just a couple of questions.
What do I need to get for the hilt appart from the hilt, obviously, the clamp and card?
And please, if anybody has an extra set of stencils u will get it now.

Many thanks!

I know. I included it as a clamp part. I mean the square screw or anything more.
BTW, please, if anybody have extra stencils, please think on me.

Some short words regarding the rings/grip on the actual prop (it being in his collection) from the man himself. That's also really where most of the new research for this particular prop starts, too, if anyone else is wanting to learn more about it.

Thanks for that link! I had read through most of that thread but did not go through every page. Very interesting info there! I have always been torn with the Luke ROTJ sabers as I like the look of them when the grips are evenly spaced and yet I also like the idea of them being accurate to the film, but that is a discussion for the other thread. I knew when I put my name down here I would be very pleased with it either way.

Sorry to insist, but the knurled cone knob is included? Also the squared screw? I have all prepared except that and want to order all before i get the hilt.
Many thanks

Check out the first post; the cone knob is included, the mystery "chunk" square is not.

You will also need the longer clamp lever. You can snag that at wannawanga.com.

I listed all the extra parts you need to buy aside from the leaver. The square chunk and a set screw sleeve. You can find the links on post #176
and comparison pics of the different steel types on post #97 of this thread http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=253448&page=4

It looks like it should all just screw together though? Then the Graflex clamp, board and lever would do it - or have I missed something?
The emitter attaches via rod and set screw to the inside of the body. The set screw sleeve is for the rod inside of the body to keep the emitter on. You could use a piece of tape or something to keep the emitter on but I think a set screw sleeve is a more elegant solution.

Ah, got you - I'll have to order one of those I guess, but there's part that needs to be tapped, right? I'd be terrified I'd screw it up!

Yep, theres also a part that needs to be tapped. I bought a tap just for this project off of ebay.

I wonder will anyone offer a service for this aspect of things? Kits and filler are my thing, and can hang a shelf - tapping metal? Don't really know the first thing about it!

It's the opposite for me. I can drill and tap and join. But painting and glueing are not my thing.

They don't screw together they are held together with set screws, you will need a 5/8ths set screw sleeve for the rod. Here are the links for both the set screws sleeves and the mystery chunk in different steels. I recommend 18-8 stainless or plain steel for the mystery chunk. The place for this chunk is not pre drilled or tapped, you will have to do that yourself, I recommend buying a tap in the thread size of the mystery chunk.

I ordered all of them to see which one looks the closest to the color of the saber. I also ordered set screw sleeves to keep the emitter and bearing on, here is the link for those if you are interested.

Unrelated but does anyone think it's weird how both Obi-wan and Luke hold the saber so low in the grip as opposed to the grip area?

Just curious how many sleeves are need 1, 2, more than that? Also where do they go, I've been looking at the saber images and haven't figured it out?

You only need one, I was just listing choices of materials you could choose, brass, steel, stainless, etc. Doesn't really matter, just though some people might like a choice.
It goes on the other end of the steel rod opposite of the emitter.

Is the part even visible?
