Limited Run Luke V2 liightsaber (Second Run) Sign up thread

Everything arrived and fits perfectly! Well, I did have to sand the top of the pommel and interior of the booster, but that was nooo problem whatsoever. The set screw collar I got from D3adrock fit onto the rod piece and the emitter spins wonderfully. Thanks to everyone involved in making this happen, and thanks most of all to Anakin Starkiller for doing a second run. This thing rocks! I can't wait to start weathering and painting this bad mama jama!

Got mine -- everything looks to be good. However, the ball-bearing sleeve does not seem to want to go to far into the channel for the rod, and it needs to for the rod to stick out enough for the emitter to have something to fit over. I am considering a collar from hardware store as a few others have suggested -- not sure how this would still allow emitter to swivel as the collar does not have bearings, but maybe I am missing something. Not all that determined that it needs to swivel, but suppose I should just to keep it "authentic" to original prop.

I thought about placing bearing collar into saber and trying to tap it into place with another rod, but this seems risky. for those that have managed to get their bearing collar into place, how did you get it in there?

DrMcoy the bearing will fit, I got mine in my putting it on the shaft (3.442" from end) then put the shaft collar behind it so it doesn't move when tapping it in. Then you can use a wooden dowel to hammer it in or use a pipe where the inside diameter will go over the rod so it pushes the bearing down. Either way will work.

The rod's are chrome plated on the body (not the face showing when the prop is assembled), so the thickness of the plating might make some of the bearings slide on a little tight. Just take some 220 or 320 sand paper and spin the rod in for a bit and you can thin out the plating enough so that the bearing will slide on easier.

collar with bearings fits on rod just fine -- but when I go to place the assembly into the hollow saber, the bearing does not go very far into the channel, so the rod can not stick up through the top to hold the emitter...not sure how to get the circular collar/bearing up into the saber any higher. but again, maybe I am missing something and it's not supposed to go very far -- but mine pretty much sits at very bottom of the channel cut out for it.

Try to sand down the outside of the bearing. If that doesn't work, I can send you another bearing, or you can just use a steel collar

I think I messed up. :/ I sanded down the pommel to get it to fit inside the body and it successfully went in. However now its stuck and I cant remove it. Anyone think WD40 would be a good idea to try and loosen it up?

Did you put the rod and bearing in? If not you can put a wooden dowel down the neck and hammer it out. If not you may have to warm it up in the oven then see if you can pull it off.

Did not put the rod in. Good idea about the dowel. I'll try that. The pommel went in fine, but it doesnt spin. I'll have to sand it more when I separate the pieces.

I would say you are lucky you didn't put the rod and bearing in yet. You'll need a 5/16th wooden dowel. Homedepot has them for like a dollar. I dont' know what kind of aluminium these are made from but they are solid. Someone else said it but I also think the steel rod is really adamantium.

juajn7fernandez BTW that ESB tape looks nice! Your sabers look great!

Here is mine finished ( for now). I'm not a 100% happy with the paint job as the stencils were a lot harder for me than I thought they would be and unfortunately the paint I went with didn't want to stick to the aluminum very well. So I'm most likely gonna re-paint the whole thing. Also need to drill a little deeper for the mystery chunk. Anyways here she is with my older one on top and Romans Obi Wan.

Shouldn't be, everything was CNC machined, so the parts shouldn't have much in the way of variance. Is there any damage to the bearing?

May you please contact me sir. I'm wanting to purchase this beautiful v2 lightsaber you've made may you please tell me what is needed for me to purchase one please?! I'm willing to pay what ever the cost is. Thanks so much and please help a fellow fan of your builds out. I'm PayPal ready or what ever way j need to pay km ready sir.

Everyone buying one of these kits signed up for it a couple months ago. Right now I don't know how many extras I might have left when all the orders are filled. Keep your eye on the junkyard. In about two weeks I should know if there are any extras and will be selling then there then

A bunch of you should be receiving kits this week. When you do, I need you to open them as soon as you can, inspect your parts, and let me know if you need to return anything. So far only a couple of parts have shown up with dings and nicks. But, I'm working with my shop to have a couple of parts repaired, and they want to know what my total number of returns will be.

-best
