I'm gonna order a clamp from Roman, should I go with satin or chrome finish?im hoping to get as screen accurate as possible but I'm not sure which one to get.any suggestions would be appreciated

Without seeing any actual pieces from Roman my gut says the satin. Chrome would be way too shiny and reflective.

I asked Roman this question a few months back. He said go with satin.

What's the size of the tap I should get for the mystery square? I'm at the hardware store and I can't find the post that had the info.

Here is a quick pic of mine as it is now. I eventually will do the all black V2 as it is in the film but just wanted to do a quick paint test... Guess this is Luke ROTJ V1.5

Nice. What paint have you used for the black? I'm planning to use duracoat satin black aerosol. All I've tried except a 2k black epoxy primer had no adhesion over bare aluminum.

Just used the Rustoleum Universal All Surface Paint+Primer in satin black. Dries fast for multiple coats. So far so good as it is biw; once I redo the neck in black and start the weathering I will know better how well it worked.

My came in today! Pieces look amazing! there are a few issues with fit but nothing that cant be easily fixed.

- the bearing was was supper tight on the center pole ( not necessarily a bad thing)

- The pommel doesn't fit in the main body ( its not by a lot so I'm just gonna use my dremel to sand the inside of the body lightly and evenly. this should make it just fine)

- and although not in this kit, the sleeve (ring) that was sold with the mystery square to hold the center pole does not fit the pole. However the piece will not be necessary due to how tight the bearing is on it. I literally had to hammer the bearing in to place.

Like I said nothing that cant be adjusted.

The kit looks amazing and I cant wait to get my stencils in the mail and finish this beauty.

By the way- does anyone have a picture or a way to accurately drill for the mystery square? I know its close to the side cone but would love to get an accurate placement.

Pictures as soon as I'm done.
I'm sorry to hear that the sleeve didn't work. I promise it was not intentional. I heard that others have had success with it. Is it by allot that it doesn't fit?

Ok....NOW the waiting is getting unbearable lol. Not really, but I like seeing others getting theirs and it makes a guy a little anxious haha.

No worries bro! It wasn't by a lot. I'm sure if I tapped it with the hammer lightly it would have slid right in, but since I had already hammered the bearing in to place, I decided not to use it. The two mystery chunks were worth the price for me, so thank you for those! :)
