Luke Skywalker ANH Costume Build

Thanks guys. I really appreciate the comment. I have not been on the RPF boards for a while so sorry I missed all your comments. These kind of comments make it worth while making the efforts to make it a close as possible.

HOLY COW! So I guess the question is did you win them? This is sweet. This is like never before seen. I did not think he had pockets and a button. I am sure this is not the same he wore fighting the Tuskin Raider. The pants looked quite different in the back. But maybe that was a stunt pants since they are calling these the Hero pants. Well I see the seems on the legs that you mentioned in a past post...lol.

Dude this is great. Thank you so much for sharing this link.

How is you new Tunic coming? Did you sell you old gear yet?

Later bro,

Awesome binocs!

I didn't bid on the screen used pants! hahaha

I did finally sell my old gear, but haven't had a chance to make my new costume yet. When I do I'll post pictures and info.

Very nice! I love that design of shirt that Luke wears for his ceremony outfit at the end of ANH. It's like the one Han wears in Empire, only black.

Looking forward to another photoshoot this one is going to have a great element of
Surprise.

odd in this Bts pic he is clearly wearing long boots that have the pants tucked in =/ in the one above it looks like he`s wearing loafers lol

"Sand-colored ''cotton drill'' Levi's pants are purposely distressed to display wear, with dirt to back right pocket and in spots to front of pant legs. In fact, in an accompanying article, Mark Hamill said of the pants, ''By the way, those pants I wore were just bleached Levi's with the tag still in them.'' Pants measure 29'' waist x 37'' in length with two 6'' slits up each side."

The boots were custom made suede ankle boots with matching suede puttees (leg wraps). The puttees were wrapped over the bottom portion of the pants, up to the knee. I've seen some costumes where people try and cheat with a pre-wrapped puttee, but it never looks right. The only way to get the look accurate is to wrap the puttees just like they did for the real costume, it's a bit time consuming, but very much worth the effort. Plus they stay in place without falling.

Second that notion. I seen costumes with per-wrapped puttees and agree with Psab Keel in that they never look right. The whole thing just seems to sag or seem off. Plus I would think they would be more of a pain to get in and out off really.

Yeah. It does take some time to wind them up as there are a LOT of layers of puttees, but if done right, it will stay up without falling, plus it looks exactly as it should.

Ok, some really COOL pics of the Photo Shoot with a few of my legion friends in the neighborhood. Big thanks to Darryl Moran "Subject Matters Photography" for his great expertise in both cinematic photography and love for Star Wars. If you are interested in seeing the whole set please feel free to view. I am really excited to shoot with a friend of mine who after many years of begging him to do Biggs finally did it. Well enjoy.
