Luke Skywalker ANH Costume Build

VERY cool looking boots and you have bragging points because you made them yourself! Also here is the picture I was talking about where you can see the split in the inseam of the pants.

I had seen this photo a long time ago and could not remember where I saw this. This a great shot. Love these kind of pics. Yeah, now I see what you mean. So really what is the point of that? Is that just to make the leg wraps hug a little more tightly? Ha, I don't need any bragging rights my friend. This is my first pair and I never made boots before. It did not come out exactly the way I wanted but I finally got them the color and worn look I wanted. I need to post my photos...lol. It has the stripes the way I wanted them to look in pictures but I don't have them quite positioned correctly. But when I turn side to side it looks really cool. The other part is I need more of the support around the front of the boot. I droops to much so it gives to much of a saggy look. But, I will try again..lol.

How's it going with the new material? Can not wait to see the results.

later!

Hey, so sorry for such a delay in my reply.

The split is helpful in allowing the bottom of the pant leg to wrap more evenly around the leg so that when the puttees are wrapped around your leg, the extra material from the pants don't dig into your skin. I found if I had a bunched up area of fabric without the split it got to be uncomfortable after a day of trooping. Plus you won't have any unsightly lumps in your puttee wraps. In my experience you have to wrap the puttees really tight to keep them from unraveling. Over the course of walking around they will stretch slightly to a comfortable fit and stay in place without falling.

I'm going to be tackling my remake fairly soon. I'll be sure to post updates when I do. Also, what did you use for the rounded cap on your droid caller top? I'm trying to make mine more accurate.

Thanks! Psab

Hey Psab,
Sorry way behind on my posts. Droid caller. I used a knob from a dresser drawer I got at Lowes. It was like 2 dollars. I can take a close up picture and send it to ya but it fit in there rather nice.

Can not wait to see your new gear. I have been looking for Brush Jeans for a while with no luck. Might have to taylor some myself soon...lol..

No problem! If you could get some shots for me that would be great! I have a decent piece on mine now, but want something more accurate.

Sorry for the late reply. Here is the pics of the part I got for the droid caller. I think they work well but obviously not exact.

So I wanted to put more links up of my costume. Had some great fun shooting it with a few friends of mine. I know there are some in accuracy's on my part:lol and a few things I don't have completed but this was alot of fun and wanted to share. Also in this shot I am sporting a poncho made from Psab :thumbsupwhich I really loved and thought it was a great addition to this costume. Anyway I hope you all enjoy. Feel free to leave feedback.

Thanks for those pictures of the droid caller part! I'll have to make my way down to Lowes and see if I can get one.

The photo session turned out great! So glad the pancho arrived in time and that it you like it was well! I love the mix with the Jawas and Sandtrooper as well!

Great looking costume dude! and that photo session looks awesome!
And seeing your avatar (vader) are you going to build that one to?

Seriously nice work! The thumbnailed pics look like production stills! My sister lives down the 301 from you in Chestertown. I've been through Middletown countless times, gotta love the tax free shopping!

Thanks Bro,
Yeah the Poncho really added to the shoot. Have to thank you for that one. We had a blast shooting it. There are tons more shots on my facebook page. I will post a link. The day and the location was perfect to shoot. Still need some work but really liking where its going.

Thanks again,
