Limited Run Luke Shared stunt Version Lightsaber ( Run Full )

Re: Luke Shared stunt Version Lightsaber

That could very well be some brass paint from before the saber got ROTJified. EDIT - I think I can see some brass paint in the third pic, too.

Unfortunately, the prop is no longer on display at the local museum, or I would go back down and get some other pictures of it so we could make sure. :(

No biggie, thanks for the offer! Mind if I/you post those pics in a research thread in the main star wars section? (so we don't hijack this one, it could lead to great conversations!) maybe the V2 thread or a shared stunt one, or a brand new one!

Re: Luke Shared stunt Version Lightsaber

Thanks for the pics, ive been updating the measurements, to me it looks like the ribs are all the same except for the first rib. ??

In the bottom saber, it looks like the ribs get thicker from right to left.

Re: Luke Shared stunt Version Lightsaber

There's a rod down the center of this emitter. Did the Shared Stunt emitter spin like the V2 emitter covered up with the copper painted tape, like the V2 has black gaffer tape, to keep the emitter from spinning?

Re: Luke Shared stunt Version Lightsaber

If it is casted from the same master along with the V2 then it should have the same or similar uneven ribs like the V2. The second Anakin Starkiller V2 run had the uneven gaps and ribs.

Correct! The only other difference is the casting line, you can see it on the grips, the V2 was put back on a lathe and cleaned up for some reason. I'm guessing they also secured this emitter more than the V2, as this was used for sword-fighting at the end of ROTJ

This prop has the same uneven rings and gaps as the V2. They were cast from the same mold, and it's not a gradual change as you move down the grips, it's pretty random.

I know. However, I prefer even ribs, which is why I stated that if there were an option to have even ribs, I would be in. I'm assuming that most people will want the accurate uneven ribs, though :)

Re: Luke Shared stunt Version Lightsaber

I'll buy one just off your sketch with the threaded assembly and the separate upper neck in copper. Were you thinking on powder coating the black areas, or leave that for us to paint?

Doesn't REALLY matter 'cause I'm sold with just a Shared Stunt with a copper neck, but throwing in my preferences, I'd say it would be nice to have it match my Starkiller V2 2nd run, with the uneven ribs and the emitter spinning (two copper pieces, cut at the notch -- held together with a rod, fit a sealed bearing pack on the rod and a shaft collar to hold it in place at one end of the rod - that slips into the thicker copper neck section, grenade side -- the other side of the rod is held onto the emitter and other copper side with a set screw in the side of the emitter. Pommel held on by a set screw instead of threading would be nice too. Would that save on machining costs?

I like the idea of it coming with one of Roman's clamps with the 3 round holes already there, I'd really prefer the Graflex name remaining on the clamp if that happens, as opposed to a no name clamp. I hate the no name clamp that my OB1 saber from him came with at the time I ordered, really need to get around to ordering a vintage clamp for that one day...

Re: Luke Shared stunt Version Lightsaber

While the ribs on the shared stunt are uneven like the V2, my research has shown me that the ring widths aren't the same on each saber, likely a result of the V2 being lathed and the shared stunt being a more-or-less raw casting. If you like, I can send you the measurements I've come up with.

Definitely that would help, we can come up with the closest rib measurements possible that everyone can agree on. all the research ive looked at, different pics show different things. I'm thinking its mostly lighting and missing paint giving them the uneven look..

If it's anything close to the version Stormpath made, count me in
