Re: Luke Shared stunt Version Lightsaber ( Pricing Now Uploaded )
I love the V2. As far as it's weathered look, I just thought that everything in the Star Wars universe was supposed to have the "lived in" look. Grease stains, scratches, dents, & all, it's what made it all seem real.
I love the idea of Luke building his lightsaber out of old parts he found at Obi-Wans place. I always wondered where he got the green blade. So the story I made up was, what if it was Qui-Gons old crystal. Obi-Wan took the lightsaber after Qui-Gons death, & after all the years maybe the crystal was the only thing left. Then it was found by (or called to) Luke, as he was looking to build his own lightsaber.
Yeah, I always figured the story was that he built it from parts at Obi Wan's place.
Maybe old Ben had a backup hilt, or spare parts/crystals and whatnot in that little chest he pulls the Graflex from.
Perfectly pristine props are boring on screen. They have no depth or character. Sterile. There are a few exceptions, but not many.
I work as a set dresser/props guy in films and pretty much everything gets some degree of aging/weathering. It's like it's standard procedure.
