Re: Luke ROTJ V2 lightsaber- based on the new info from SWCA (UPDATE PG 12)

I was looking at this compared to the Russ Rep version, which is another one I missed, so I am so glad there will be a second run here.

Anyway I can't tell the difference. I have followed this one but might have missed it.

How is this one more accurate than others???

Thanks

Tom

First off, I started working from actual measurements from an original stunt, second this replica incorporates the new details revealed by Brandon at swc

Alright, so do I work on this hilt or the uneven ring one from your run years ago? Both are now on my work bench. :)

Re: Luke ROTJ V2 lightsaber- based on the new info from SWCA (UPDATE PG 12)

Got mine today and it's a Beautiful piece of work.
Only thing is I don't see any set screws to put it together with...

Need specs on what to get. Anybody know?

Thanks!

Unpacked mine.
What is the ball bearing for? I get how the rod fastens to the emitter but how does it attach to the body. I'm sorry to say my pommel does not fit into the body.

Got mine today!! We were headed to town, & I took the whole box with me to look at in the car.:D

I can honestly say that I've waited for years for one of these, & I truly appreciate the time & effort put into getting me this. I understand that others have benefited from this run, but to me, It was all for me.;):thumbsup

The steel rod should be glued into the center of the bearing with enough length so that the rod reaches the tip of the emitter. This should be 3.442" from the end of the rod. Then the bearing/rod is inserted in the body and the emitter is a fixed with the set screws.

As to the pommel, a couple of the remade pommel fit a little dug in the body. If you use a little sand paper on the bottom lip of the pommel it should slide in fine.

Yep! Somehow got loose in there amongst the packaging but I found the little buggers.
Thanks!

Looking forward to tutorials on paint both weathered and AFB

Re: Luke ROTJ V2 lightsaber- based on the new info from SWCA (UPDATE PG 12)

Got mine today, everything fit great except for the pommel. I had to shave it down some on the lathe to get it to fit. No biggie for me, as I have a lathe handy. Might test fit these before packing them on the next run.
Apart from that, really happy with the purchase, great job. Thanks for doing this run.
