Limited Run Luke ROTJ V2 lightsaber- based on the new info from SWCA (UPDATE PG 37)

Re: Luke ROTJ V2 lightsaber- based on the new info from SWCA (UPDATE PG 12)

Ill be going on vacation from the 10th-19th, so I probably might not be able to get anything shipped out before then. But once I get back, everything should move quickly.

Great minds think alike, I'm off on vacation the 10th-18th I'm jealous of your extra day! :lol At least I won't be worried on my vacation that someone will steal my parcel of lightsaber parts..

Re: Luke ROTJ V2 lightsaber- based on the new info from SWCA (UPDATE PG 12)

I got the emitters and I'm at a loss. They left one of the holes in the nipple unthreaded and they wrapped them just like the pommels. While the damage as a result in not nearly as sever as was on the pommels, since the parts didn't have the same sharp edges, most of the parts did receive a nick here and there. I think I'm gonna go have a good cry.:facepalm

I'm cool with the nicks, the missing threaded hole is alittle disappointing :(

Well the hole will have to get threaded one way or another. It's required for the assembly.

I'm totally livid with this company. They machine thousands of dollars of parts and then toss them together and damage them all so that they can save a buck on bubble wrap. I just can't understand it

Re: Luke ROTJ V2 lightsaber- based on the new info from SWCA (UPDATE PG 12)

it sucks for the people who want a extremely clean saber, but for me dan the damage is no big deal... the hole on the other hand

Well as to the whole, the worse case scenario is that I tap it myself by hand. But I really don't want to do that since we're talking 80 holes, that are quite hard to each and with a very thin (M3) tap. If I beak the taps, I could quickly find myself in trouble

Re: Luke ROTJ V2 lightsaber- based on the new info from SWCA (UPDATE PG 12)

Ugh.

That's unacceptable. They need to accept responsibility for this.

I don't care about small blemishes, but if it needs to be tapped and screwed in order to hold it together then yea lol.

worse case scenario I can tap mine myself, no big deal to me

Refuse delivery of the damaged product, stop payment/demand refund, and look for a new shop. My $0.02
I will pay a deposit on my saber to help facilitate moving this project to a new shop.

Re: Luke ROTJ V2 lightsaber- based on the new info from SWCA (UPDATE PG 12)

If that's where it goes, I will as well.

The problem is that they have already deducted the money from my bank account. Unfortunately, I don't really have a lot of power here.

Re: Luke ROTJ V2 lightsaber- based on the new info from SWCA (UPDATE PG 12)

Maybe just offer to tap the holes only for those who need it and can't do it themselves ?

Ask your bank about any buyer protection they may offer, you could have more power than you realize. Anyway bummer about the hassle. You at least have vacation to look forward to.

It's a good thing the Force isn't real or someone at that machine shop would be getting force choked by about 60 people right now.

Agreed. F these guys.

You dont want to break a tiny tap in a hole. Major headache at best and at worst needs a whole part replaced.

Re: Luke ROTJ V2 lightsaber- based on the new info from SWCA (UPDATE PG 12)

You would think, after the first round of results, they would make sure to take care that didn't happen again, and do the work that was paid for at the least. I know I could tap mine, but I would prefer not to, especially if it was supposed to be done at the shop.

I say return them, if possible, speak to the shop owner, at the very least seek someone else to finish the job. I know I am in no rush, and don't mind chipping in a bit to help move hings along to another shop if need be.

Re: Luke ROTJ V2 lightsaber- based on the new info from SWCA (UPDATE PG 12)

Thanks for the offers guys. But the last thing I would want is to start taking money before everything is done. That's where runs go wrong.

I'm at a loss really because I did go to the shop and spoke to the owner for hours. I argued with the guy. I haggled and negotiated with him. I can't believe he'd want to do this again. I frankly can't believe this happened again. Hence the double facepalm

Re: Luke ROTJ V2 lightsaber- based on the new info from SWCA (UPDATE PG 12)

Sorry your experience has been ****ty with this shop.

Hope you can get it sorted out!

May the force be with you.

Re: Luke ROTJ V2 lightsaber- based on the new info from SWCA (UPDATE PG 12)

I guess they don't care about repeat custom then. And I doubt very much now there will be a second run given all the trouble you've had . You can only do your best and when you are let down like this it must really feel like a punch in the guts!! Keep going, you'll figure something out.
