Limited Run Luke ROTJ V2 lightsaber- based on the new info from SWCA (UPDATE PG 37)

Re: Luke ROTJ V2 lightsaber- based on the new info from SWCA

I'm going to be without internet access for four days next week while camping. I know that during those four days the cards and levers will go on sale and sell out. Because the universe hates me.

Hey, don't stress out over it. Assuming the cards are good to go, they will be placed on permanent restock on my site. No plans for them to "run out," although they might be out of stock temporarily at times.

Re: Luke ROTJ V2 lightsaber- based on the new info from SWCA

I'm planning to take a drive out to the shop tomorrow to talk with them about the pommels. I'll keep you all posted on what happens

Thanks for going to such lengths (literally, ba dum tiss) we really appreciate it!

So yeah, TOTALLY selling off my parks arc-wave.

This thing is going to be epic with Roy's lever and Sloth's card.

Hm..I may however keep the clamp from the parks though if I can't scoop one up for cheap.

I drove to Jersey today to have them look at the pommels. They asked me to give them 45min to try to clean up a couple of the scratched ones. So I'm waiting to see how they look after the shop takes a Crack at fixing them. When I got to the shop. They also had this for me.

I'm going AFBB and this pic makes me happy with that decision.

Thanks!

Re: Luke ROTJ V2 lightsaber- based on the new info from SWCA

Ok. So after haggling and arguing with the shop, here's where we stand. The shop was unwilling to remake all the pommels, and every time I showed him one that had a ding in it and said that this was unacceptable, he would pick up another one with only light surface scratches and say, this one looks fine and there is no such thing as perfect in machining. I told the guy that some of my customers were unwilling to accept these blemishes, and he said that he could remake some of the ones that were the worse of the lot. So, I got him to remake enough of the pommels, the ones with the worst blemishes, so that everyone who replied "Problem" to my previous PM should be able to get a new clean one. Those who replied "no problem" will receive a pommel with some light scratches on it (these should be fairly easy to clean up with a little sand paper if the scratches or nicks bother you). I hope this should make everyone happy.

I was also told that the emitters are on there way and I should have them early next week.

When I do, I'll pm everyone for payment.

Best
Dan

Yeah, there is no such thing as perfect, but there is such thing as packaging things in such a way that they're not damaged during shipping/transport, and they failed at that. The solution sounds good and is the one I was hoping for... Small scratches are ok to me, but those larger gouges were not desirable and their fault, so I'm glad you're not getting screwed!

yup i just pee'd my pants!! i have no problem with a scratched pommel, my saber will end up taking a pretty hard weathering job. but being in the motor sports, having a machine say "this one looks fine and there is no such thing as perfect in machining" would scare me.

the sabers look awesome so far, i cant wait!! :D

Re: Luke ROTJ V2 lightsaber- based on the new info from SWCA (UPDATE PG 12)

yeah... no kidding. I hate machine shops that just toss crap into a box or bin and call it "good to go"

Just take CARE with the items you're making. There's no excuse for being lazy and disrespectful for your client like that.

There certainly IS perfection in machining metal. You use precision machines, and make PERFECT parts... and then, you package and ship them CAREFULLY.

That attitude is a good way to get no repeat business and a crap reputation.

Re: Luke ROTJ V2 lightsaber- based on the new info from SWCA (UPDATE PG 12)

I hope you suggested that they wrap the next parts in bubble wrap!!! I'm sure this is stressful for you anakin starkiller but I'm also sure we appreciate it. I for one would like to decide for myself what weathering I do, and would not want to pay for a pre-dinged saber. I have trouble believing that the machine shop thinks it's ok. Lousy work ethic on their part.

You mentioned emitters but no cone knobs--we're still good to go on those too?

Gutted I missed the list, will keep watching!

Words can't express how excited I am about this project. The community sure appreciates all the effort you've put into this. No hurry up and take my money.
