Limited Run Luke ROTJ Hero Lightsaber Kit.( Run closed )

Checked the little storage of brass I have - and I found 1 piece with a length of ca. 2, 5" in the needed dia.

Will see if I find the time to turn it today after work.

I know Spyhunter2k was in there first - hats off to him! - but if there's a chance of two, I'd bite the hand off you for it :) (That's an Irish way of saying I'd be very eager indeed!)

Here's mine, I made a display case to it as well. When the arrows and the small, black box is glued on, it will be one of the finest in the glass cabinet. :)

Yeah I'll probably be hitting up an automotive store to source out some aluminum polish of some kind

Damn I gotta look for some of that as well. I'm a sucker for weathered props, but this hero deserves the mirror gloss of an Elite!

I'll have to see how yours turns out... I used Brasso and it's clean, but not that polished look...

Yeah... when I started researching what the best ways of polishing aluminum was, a lot of the hits I kept getting were from automotive sites... which makes sense since a lot of 'show' parts are made from aluminum; i.e. rims, etc.

alot of people use Mothers or Blue Magic. your end results will vary depending on the original finish. to get it to a mirror finish you will probably have to wet sand with high grit sand paper. The polish only takes out light surface scratches and removes oxidation making it shinier.

@ Spyhunter and Pnag:

Sorry for the delay, guys - real world and my job workload didn´t gave me the needed time to finish your parts sooner. I only had time to work, eat and sleep.

But today:

I made it a sort of satin finish, if you want a whatever grade of more or less shiny, it should be easy doable on your own. Just put it with a threaded rod and 2 nuts in a drilling machine/akkudrill/drillpress and sand or polish it to the grade you want. It´s drilled to allow a 1/4" rod to go through.

Your parcels are packed, now. Later i will write the labels - and then ask my wife if she can deliver them asap to the post office.

Hope you still get them in time to put them under the tree. Merry X-mas .:)

Lichtbringer! They look *amazing*!!! I'd have said thanks sooner, but was hosting a tree decorating party for some under fives :)

I can't wait!!! Will PM you now!

They look great! Thanks again, man. Can't wait to get it.
